Are we good enough to dance?

It seems a lot of the pundits are down on us now. I hope we get a birth, but the last few weeks of the season have been the worst all season. I think that makes it easy for them to leave us off. Sadly, I see an NIT game in our future, and it makes me wonder how our administration will view our coaching staff.

I think Glass feels obligated to stick with Crean, otherwise he looks bad for giving him the obscenely generous contract extension. It seems we need a new AD . Glass looks good because of the budget, but that is mostly attributable to BTN money. He is a lawyer and in over his head.

He has made many terrible decisions.

If UConn beats Tulsa, SMU beats Temple, SMU beats UConn, Dayton beats Rhode Island, and San Diego St beats Wyoming.....

then I think we have a 50/50 chance of getting in. So we got that going for us.

good synopsis. That pretty much sums it up. Unless they decided to reward one of the SEC teams for S's and G's, then it won't matter at all.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.  Out of our hands now and what happens happens.  We were totally in control of our own destiny and then the wheels fell off.  Whose fault?  The finger pointing starts with the head coach, but the players have to share part of the blame for the lack of defensive effort we saw in too many games.  If we squeak into the NCAA it's hard to imagine this team making much of a run - maybe 2 games if they put forth the effort we saw in the last 2 games.  But even that extra effort in the last 2 games only resulted in 1 victory because we have to live and die by the 3 point shot and that fact alone could easily mean we never make it past the play-in game which seems to be our fate if we are selected.   Are we good enough to dance?   Well, we're already dancing the limbo aren't we?

Alex Bozich just tweeted that the chair of the selection committee says they are considering 14 teams for 5 spots. That is a higher number of teams under consideration than I would have thought. That lessens my belief we sneak in.

I assume some of those schools include teams that have been in the auto bid spots for awhile. Steve Austin's RPI is 35, if they lose tonight they may get an at-large. Don't get stunned, Steve.

steve has a sos of 217. 0-3 against top 25 and only 3 wins against top 100. No way they get an at-large

Fwiw jerry Palm (cbs bracketology has us as an 11 seed not playing in Dayton ). I guess we will find out in less then 24 hours

I think we're pretty securely in unless there are multiple bids stolen.  I believe the hype machine has been in full effect.  Seeing Indiana as the last team currently in gets them more coverage.  Just a theory.

I think unless we play a team in the tourney that has some size, we could pull off a first round upset

This all assuming we make the tourney. (Not assuming, hoping)
