Indiana vs. Iowa Official Game Thread (7pm ET, ESPN)

Yet another game where iu has to prove that there not in the midst of total meltdown. I feel tonight is a must have game tbh. I know the season isn't over if we don't but I think if we lose this one all heck is going to break lose so to speak lol. I predict we win the next two then have a stupid loss against a crap team in the big ten tournament.

For the second year in a row, we need to win out to get a post season bid. If we had finished 7-3 instead of 3-7 in our last 10 games we would have made the NCAA or at least the NIT.

Now, we have to win the next 2 of 3 to get a comfortable spot in the dance. The next two games are huge. Win these and I feel good about our chances.

I hate that we are in this position again.

If we come out and turn the ball over immediately like we often do, the fans aren't going to feel like jumping up and down cheering. I agree that the fans feed off the effort on the court first and that helps to sustain the team to maintain their effort.

Have a plan of how to score on the first possession that doesn't include dribbling the ball off your knee.

The game isn't won on the first possession, but the tone of the game is much better if we can score early and get a stop. Focus on that. My son is taking his IU foam finger to the game, so he is ready!

We probably turn the ball over on the first possession in 3/4 of our games. Would be interesting to run that stat for the year and for Crean's tenure. It is ridiculous how often we turn the ball over on the first possession and for the first four minutes of the game.

I'm expecting us to come out with a lot of energy tonight... Extra crowd, must win, and a little rest... From what I've heard the team has taken it relativity easy in practice this week getting some much needed end of season rest... Never heard that from a Crean team before so that's a good sign #hopeful

That's good info if true. The team probably needs to collect itself as a unit at this point.

Short 40 minute practice yesterday and lots of energy tonight ..we will see if that strategy works

anything is better than what he has been doing. I think I remember crean on radio this year saying they took it easy before one of the games and I felt like it worked. I can't remember what game but I think it was pre big ten possibly butler. Lets hope their rested and ready to go. If we don't have the excuse of crean practicing the boys to hard and they were tired at the end of the year what will we use next though?

I agree to some extent but if we beat Iowa and MSU and win at least one game in the big ten tourney, we can at least say we end the season on a high note which has not ever really happened under Crean. It's a pattern he needs to kick

2011-2012 we were playing our best ball at the end of the year. I know it's easy to throw out any good the team/program has had when you want the coach gone.

I'm extremely worried about their backcourt defense. I think they are going to press Yogi alot tonight to try and get the ball to the other players to create turnovers. that is my prediction. I was just reading a couple of articles from Iowa and the head coach focused on Yogi quite a bit. Remember, they did press the point guards in Penn State and Illinois. I watched an Iowa game early in the season and they kept pushing out way beyond the norm on the point which caused all kinds of problems for the team they were playing. They wouldn't let the point get the play going, at all. What has two thumbs pointed at himself and is worried....this guy
