Big Ten Tournament History

Recommended Posts

Honestly, these conference tourneys are a big money grab. They can be alot of fun though if your team preforms well. My UK family heads to Atlanta every spring for the SEC tourney and have a blast. My OSU friends have a blast every year travelling to the B1G tourney. I thought by now we'd be winning games regularly in the tourney. Na baby Na. My last one was 2012. Why put the money and effort into watching the crap product we bring to the tourney? I drive 15 minute to B-dubs, have some wings, watch the game then head home. I find I'm less pissed off after the loss when I havent invested a bunch of time and money in a trip to Indy or Chi-town.

i don't have a place to watch games. I have one "sports bar" type place and it is all hockey. Ok, it's not really a sports bar, it's a hotel that has a restaurant that is all hockey. I have been trying to get them to put on some CBB but it's like pulling teeth. oh well, guess i'll watch the tourney at home or internet :(

P.S., I'll take this 1st world problem any day of the week to live here in Alaska! so, suck it lower 48ers

I have never been a big fan of a tournament like this. Taking all 14 teams into a tournament means that if a team would come from the bottom and win, they would be exhausted before the NCAA even started.

I have thought the tournament comes at a time that teams are banged up and tired.  The worst thing you want is to play games in consecutive days before the NCAA.I would rather only allow the top 10 teams qualify for the tournament. It makes the tournament shorter and saves the legs of the players that have to play in the games.

Remember VJIII getting hurt in the Big 10 tournament? We missed him in the NCAA.

There's always the flip side to that too though. I'm pretty sure the Kemba Walker year UConn won something like 5 games in 5 days to win the Big East Tournament, then went on to win the NCAA.
