I'm not sure if you were being serious or not.  By all accounts he's having a pretty darn good spring on the NY2LA circuit and has had several really glowing writeups and was just named to the NY2LA All-Spring First Team.  A summary of his stats for the spring are about 4 posts above.  If that's not a good stat line I don't know what is.

I'm not kidding. The competition on that AAU circuit is not nearly as good as the Nike or Adidas. Whenever he has played in front of IU coaches he has not played well this summer. I hope I'm wrong because I think he could be a good 4 year player but he has fallen down the list of players we are contacting on a daily-weekly basis.

Update from Peegs lines up with what's been said lately about IU not recruiting him that hard.

Bloomington North 2018 forward Musa Jallow updates what colleges he's hearing from the most, where his recruitment stands overall and what he feels are keys for his game moving toward his final July evaluation stretch.

Bloomington North 2018 forward Musa Jallow is working on his game as his final July evaluation periods approach.

The four-star 6-foot-5 forward, by his own admission, had an up-and-down spring.
“It’s been up and down,” he said. “That’s why I’m working on it, notting letting a zone slow me down. I have to keep my motor up the whole time.
“Right now, for our team, my main job is working on leading the team, being consistent, dominating the game every possession.
“That’s what I have to learn for us to have a good season. We went 12-10 and lost our first game in sectionals last year, and we’re really trying to get further this season.”
As far as his recruitment, Jallow has seen schools’ interest in flux.
“Purdue is talking to me a lot. Butler, Stanford, Virginia of course, Oregon texts every once in a while, but that’s about it,” he said.
The previous Ohio State staff offered, but a new coaching staff would have to make a decision on that.
Indiana’s new coaching staff also watched Jallow multiple times during the two spring evaluation periods, and Jallow made a spring unofficial visit to IU.
Jallow said he’s not really focused on recruiting right now.
With a new coach, Jason Speer, at Bloomington North, a lot of June will be about his high school team, so Jallow isn’t sure if he’ll be doing any June visits.
“Every once in a while, I sit down with my coach, with my mom and dad, and talk about things, but we’re going to wait until we feel it’s the right fit.”
As far as a decision, Jallow has no set timetable.
“Preferably, I’d like to have it done by the high school season, but if I don’t figure it out by then, I’m not going to stress about it. I’m going to wait for the right situation.”

won't swear my records are 100% accurate but I have the following '18 offers on the table and Naz Carter could end up as a '17.  I guess I'm somewhat encouraged that we're not continuing to throw offers to the wind and concentrating our efforts on a more select group.  So even if we're cooling on Jallow, Archie must still feel reasonably good about where he stands with others on the list and hasn't gone into panic mode.

Ayala, Eric
Bazley, Darius
Carey, Jalen
Carter, Naz
Dort, Lugentz
Garland, Darius
Jallow, Musa
King, Louis
Langford, Romeo
Phinisee, Robert
Swider, Cole
Thompson, Race

So, we have 6 scholly's available for that group of 12. 50% of that group would be nothing short of amazing, in my opinion.

Anyone care to give their opinion of our chances with each of these guys? You know, since there's really nothing else to do at this time of the year.

That's a really good question. I'm gonna post my thoughts in the 2018 recruiting thread, and would be curious to see what others think.

Lots of talent there. My concerns are it is such a focused group that with a few misses it could get dicey fast. Second, I see one PF and 0 Centers among a bunch of guards and wings. Ugh, I hate small ball. I don't expect a Twin Towers approach, but would really prefer to have 2 legit post players on the roster.

One explanation is that the 2018 class is not very deep with big men, centers especially. I count only 9 4 star centers in the 247 composite. The PF crop is a little deeper, but Thompson (20th ranked PF) is probably the highest ranked one we could conceivably recruit. A lot of early commits and non Midwestern kids in front of him.

I also don't think Davis is a risk of leaving after two years like Bryant was, which would explain why IU is recruiting James Wiseman so hard in 2019 rather than trying to get in late on an elite 2018 big man.

From a Virginia related website:

Musa Jallow took two unofficial visits to Virginia in the past so he came to Charlottesville for the NBPA Top 100 Camp already comfortable with his surroundings. Of course, he’s usually comfortable on a basketball court anyway.

That’s certainly been true so far at the Top 100 Camp. Jallow, a four-star recruit at guard, has had at least 8 points in all but one game so far. He tallied 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal in the opener and followed up with 8 points, 1 assist, and 1 steal in the second game Wednesday. On Thursday, he posted 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks before finishing with 3 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal in the nightcap.

“It’s been a really good experience,” Jallow said. ”I’ve been here two times on an unofficial visit so I’m pretty familiar with the area and the court and stuff like that so it’s a fun experience.”

Of course, Jallow often receives attention for the things he does on defense beyond the box score. That’s a trait that’s been ingrained from an early age. The message from his AAU coach with the Bloomington Blaze is simple: defense doesn’t take a night off even if your shooting does.

That’s why Jallow is always willing to challenge a shot near the rim if he can get the timing right for the opportunity.

”My AAU coach has been training me since I was six years old,” Jallow said. ”He was a defensive guy, Derrick Cross, so he always preaches defense even if your shot’s not going in, you can always have a good night defensively. So no matter what, just play hard on defense and that’s pretty much the main focus.”

Jallow’s versatility on both ends of the floor has drawn high major attention in the basketball recruiting world. He said his recruitment is all over the place and “pretty open” at this stage of the summer with offers from Stanford, Butler, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, and Virginia among others. Stanford and Ohio State have made him one of their top priorities he said.

For now, the Indiana native wants to take his time with the decision process and play a timetable by ear until he figures out what the best situation is for him. He indicated that he hasn’t had time to build the relationship with Archie Miller and his staff at his hometown school Indiana yet. ”They still have to come out and see me. They only got to see me one tournament so we still have to figure it out,” he said.

As for the Cavaliers, Jallow said that UVA and probably Stanford would be places that he would lean for an official visit due to their distance from home. He hasn’t set any visits at this point, though.

If an official visit does come for Virginia, Jallow already likes what he sees with the program.

”Coach Bennett, the way he runs his team, the defensive intensity, the humbleness they have,” Jallow said. ”It’s a really good system.”

I'm really hoping to get Jallow to stay in Bloomington.  Just the thought of watching him at Purdue for 3or 4 years is disturbing.

Just the thought of watching Purdue is disturbing enough!

2018, 6’5 small forward, Musa Jallow, of Bloomington High School North is one of the best all around wing players in the 2018 class. He is a very versatile player that excels with many things on both sides of the basketball. He brings a lot of athleticism to the court and is one of the better defenders in his respective class.

When it comes to recruitment, he said, “My recruitment is all over the place. I am pretty open. I have a bunch of offers from Stanford, Butler, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Virginia and stuff like that so I am pretty open right now.”

We asked Musa if he had any visits coming up and he had this to say, “I have a pretty busy schedule this summer so I haven’t setup any visits yet.

One of the schools that has been on Jallow for a while is Virginia and he discussed what is appealing about the Cavaliers.

“Coach Bennett, the way he runs his team, you know the defensive intensity, you know the humbleness he has and stuff like that.”

Indiana has a new coaching staff and Musa has visited the Hoosiers twice.

“I have been over there twice to talk to the new staff and they still have to come out and see me, they have only been able to see me at one tournament so we still have to figure it out and stuff like that.”

Chris Holtmann recently left Butler to become the head coach at Ohio State and some of Holtmans assistants at OSU have reached out to Jallow.

“I haven’t talked to Coach Holtmann but I have talked to some of the assistant coaches and they say that I am one of the top priorities as I was for Ohio State beforehand and for them at Butler.”

He spoke about his relationship with Stanford and what stands out with them.

“I am one of their top priorities, they like my versatility and what I can bring to the table.”

When asked about a time-table for his recruitment, he had this to say, “I don’t know, I just play it by ear. I am just going to try and slowly figure everything out and just wait for the best situation to come up.”

Jallow thinks he has an idea of two official visits he would like to make.

“Probably Stanford since that is the farthest one out and probably Virginia. Those two are probably the two farthest ones out so they will definitely be official visits.”

Some things are important to Musa when it comes time to pick a school, “Just how the coaching staff interacts. If they are really high energy and always on you and stuff like that and just a great clean system.”

Having already missed on Swider, Johns, and Bazley, it probably wouldn't hurt for the staff to show Jallow some love during the upcoming evaluation period. Jallow, Anderson, Jerome Hunter, and King (huge long shot there) is starting to become a smaller group of targeted SF's.

It seems that way. Dropping down the ladder. Jallow vs Hunter. Hard to judge. Hunter more refined, Jallow more tenacious.

Lots of Jallow to O$U movement today.

Not ok with allowing a homegrown talent to leave our backyard without putting in the effort unless we know we are getting a much better talent. Inside out doesn't get much more literal than this and doesn't add up
