Magnanimous

Indiana won't be Indiana until it wants to be Indiana

You get a little grace period when you have 2 Nation Titles, 3 total title game appearances, 4 total Final Fours and 7 total Elite 8 appearances.

If Crean does that, people would perfectly accept an NIT berth now and then. Why? Because fans would have the confidence he'll get it back on track.

and some NIT's.

Dammit, ya beat me to it! Get the two NCs and we'll talk about the rest!

Well, when you put it like that they've really sucked, huh?

My point wasn't that they've sucked. It's just that they have struggled to maintain after losing pros.

And if Crean went to three straight elite 8s and lost we all know he would get killed til there's no tomorrow on here. That's the difference. He is treated unfairly and for some reason people justify it because he makes millions? That's really dumb. That's not a reason to drag a guy through the mud.

A tie? Yeah, we backed into what we got!

Beat OSU at home and you win it. A tie? I'm sick and tired of settling.

Yeah, in my opinion we didn't win it. And I forgot to mention. Going out in the sweet sixteen, not winning the B1G tournament, getting our ass kicked on senior night by a team that we'd just beaten on the roada few weeks earlier? We did all that with two of the top four picks in the NBA lottery that year and another kid that was an MCDAA.

In your opinion we didn't win it?  What does that even mean?  We won it or lost it.  The record books say IU won the B1G outright.  What are you grasping at here?

This is the question that no one has the answer to, but some pretend to know. It's funny to me because he has demonstrated the ability to achieve everything we all want.

He came in here and after getting through the fat, had a title level team by year 5. He can't do it again?

Interesting last take. Who knows. I say yes if they can lure another top tier big with his ability to develop wings. How long would you give and does he deserve more time depending on how the year finishes?

You're leaving out the part that Donovan has two national titles and another Championship game appearance in the bank. Fans would be ecstatic with any coach that had Donovan's production at Florida at Indiana.

If you transferred Donovan's resume to Crean at IU, fans would be doing backflips.

My point wasn't that they've sucked. It's just that they have struggled to maintain after losing pros.

If Crean went to 3 straight elite 8's I'd give him 2 more years. That's it.

But there is a reason he didn't go to 3 straight elite 8's or even 3 total elite 8's in 15 years...

When you take 3.15million of our state's tax money and give us a product that someone who gets paid 1.3million could have produced, I get upset.

How is any of this a hard concept for you to understand?

If you go back and read I said I mis-typed. Just totally pissed.

I'm not trying to leave anything out or include anything. I am just in general trying to point out that this situation isn't as cut and dry as many believe. There are far too many moving parts to actually believe all of the failures are because of the head coach. It's asinine.

On Crean's third real team, people wanted to run him out of town. It seems that four years is too long.

there were some down on him I'm sure but they were the vast minority then. he won 12 games that year... Far cry from winning a championship. NOBODY expected a NC that year, just progress and there was little if it. Most remained patient

Considering we are likely going to win around 25 games, I'd say he'll be back... As long as yogi doesn't leave, we are a top 15 team next year. Need to get a center to take pressure off of Hanner and the 2015s/Holt. Davis I don't expect anything from.

It's an evolving thing; I can't say how much time he deserves. I just know he hasn't done anything to warrant a firing or even a discussion about it. He's got it rolling again, need to keep winning and land Bryant and all of the chicken littles will be buying title t shirts once again.

I'm talking about last year. I don't evaluate the first three teams.

The perfect example of this is fans here thinking we are somehow exceeding expectations because we are better than 9th on the preseason predictions. That gets brought up all the time in these threads. IU is and will be nothing better than a middle of the pack team most years with Crean. That's just how I feel about him. No one needs to debate me out of it. I was fully supportive through last year of Crean and then as this season wears on, he is just losing me more and more.

Yea winning changes everything, so go win Crean.

You didn't expect to go partying tonight after a win did you?

in 12-13 our #2 ranked team lost to unranked wisky in assembly hall by 5 and our #3 ranked team lost to #22 wisky by 12 in the B1G tournament.

We may never return to dominance again but accepting mediocrity is a sure fire way to assure we won't.

I would rather strive for it and fail then to accept this. Crean isn't a bad man or a bad coach, he just isn't a top tier coach. His resume says he isn't, not just the fans
