Did Lyle just commit to OSU?

Recommended Posts

Gotta love all the holier than thou IU fans who judge this kid but give Crean and current players who are proven trouble a complete pass. You people are ridiculous.

Has nothing to do with being holier than thou.

I think almost all fans wanted harsher punishments against the kids who got in trouble. There is a big difference however, because those kids were already on the team.

In the Lyle case, the feeling is to not bring in someone who has demonstrated multiple times they are problems.

News flash, we are not a squeaky clean program, people. Had as many or more issues than any program in cbb in recent times. Just maybe Lyle went to OSU to be sure and stay out of trouble.

exactly, and we weren't the gold standard under Knight either.

No program is 100% clean, not us and definitely not OSU.

Everybody bashing Lyle tell me about any legal trouble he has been in that I am unaware of? I am from Evansville and I know he had an attitude problem because he has never been coached. He left Evansville and went to Prep school his senior year and the only trouble I know of him getting into is his academics. And it is not as if he was cheating, he was just not eligible.

He has played AAU his entire life and his H.S. coach was a glorified AAU coach that basically asked Jaquan when and how much he wanted to play. The kid is a great player and if a coach has any confidence in himself to try to coach him for the first time in his life and he worked hard enough in the off season to get himself eligible academically then I do not see a reason for anyone to not want him on their team.

He will be an in-state kid that has his career highs against us every time we play and then we will all complain because we don't have a replacement for Yogi.

Not that it is relevant but back 'in the day' don't you think Da' Coach would have passed on this kid given the facts then?

The coach would've went to see this kid play, and ran the other way. I watched him play 5-7 times a year when he was at evansville bosse. Not a team player, horrible attitude, very selfish. ... but I guess that just me being holier than thou.

BINGO! The same one dissing Lyle through the whole process will be the one booing him every time he touches the ball.

this is what people said about Deangelo Russell early in the year too. It took some of our posters a while to see how incredible he is. Lyle isn't on that level but he is VERY good.

It's really ok to let people have an opinion as to whether or not a recruit should have been signed. No need to tell them why they're wrong or why your opinion is infallible.                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Seriously, from you that is funny.

..... Seriously. My comment is pretty self-explanatory. We have guys who had issues, what sense would it make to add another kid who has red flag                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       What are these red flags?

 What are these red flags?

All you have to do is Google "Jaquan Lyle red flags".

There is too much to cut and paste. From the Oregon dismissal, to the suspensions, to the new red Mustang that he tweeted  a picture of and admitted getting the same week he committed to Louisville, to the many many, many people who have posted from the Evansville area attesting to his volatile personality and lack of maturity.

Oregon dismissal was due to academic ineligility correct? Also I am from Evansville and his parents are pretty well off. I am pretty sure he drove a newer SUV before the Mustang. Not sure that story has any legs unless somebody wants to throw it in a paragraph to try to improve their arguement. You can read my old posts on the kids attitude. It is what it is. He was the #4 ranked player in his class at one point. He hasn't been in Evansville area for 2 going on 3 years so anybody that tells you about his attitude or voatile personality are talking about a High School junior that has since been to two Prep schools that usually help out with any of those issues.
