IU vs UNC Greensboro Post Game Thread

Low attendance can also be attributed to the holiday weekend (in addition to the below average play).

The attendance has been shrinking since last season. I went to the Iowa game last year and there were a ton of empty seats on the same side as the students. It was the same at the SMU game this year. My wife and I didn't have anyone in the seats next to us on either side for SMU.

It takes heart to play d. Excellent reference.

playing defense in large part is about wanting to get to the end of forty minutes and know in your heart that you played like a tough mofo!
You may not always win but by god I played tough!I did what my coach told me to,I had my teammates back and I didn't back down from nobody or nothing! You may beat me but you aren't going to intimidate me!

Holt does have better instincts than Hanner, of course he's been playing the game longer too. Holt looked like he could help eventually, but I saw a player that has a ways to go himself.

Remember, he was doing that against a low major.

true, but it's better than anything I've seen out of hanner in his time against low and high majors. He can dunk, and that's about it

Hanner's hype was a product of highlight tapes.  When I saw him at LaLu I knew it was going to take a lot of work for him to be a reliable contributor, he had one play flashing his athleticism and that was literally it.  I was unimpressed to say the least.

Exhibit A for why I don't give a crap what a recruits highlight tapes look like, they can make anyone look good.

Post these quotes if you can please.

I'm not begging as you but I'm still waiting for Crean to say anything was his fault. Afterall, 7 years its his program right? Was his team's mindset not equal to the task or was their defensive propensity to not guard the person with the ball to fail? Maybe they just were perplexed at how well the opposing team were coach and couldn't quite understand how instantaneously they would play on the ball. The coach speak is unmistankenly an honest attempt to overcome his obvious limitations of getting it done between the black lines. In other words, just subbing every 2 minutes doesn't make you a coach.

The comments are now on the Inside The Hall page if you want to read them---he actually does take some responsibility.

I'm gonna derail this thread for a moment and give the fans and ushers a big thumbs up for this game...

I took my father (70), and my 2 youngest sons (15,14) to this game Friday night...

as we were going down the stairs to the exit...my father's knee gave out and he started to lose balance and coordination, and in doing so...he hurled his Hoosier cup into the crowd (complete with soda)...the ushers were johnny on the spot and "caught" dad before going down, and the poor folks that caught the splashing end of dad's mishap were completely understanding...

it literally made my heart skip and it shook my kids up, but all was well, and everybody chipped in to help calm the situation...

big kudos, Hoosiers...and thank you.

Great story. Hoosier Fans are generally kind and generous and understanding----I probably told the story before about going to Buffalo Wild Wings in Ky and the waitress telling me and my family that she loves waiting on IU fans over UK and UL fans because we are more classy and just nicer.

Glad you got to go with your father---I loved going with mine but lost him to cancer a little over a year ago---enjoy the time you have together. Can't get it back.
