Going to be a long season

Recommended Posts

With the lack of inside game, the B1G will have its way with us..

With the lack of no set plays.. we'll lose.

With the lack of defense.. we'll lose.

If our threes are not falling... oh boy.

Of course our boys will come out and play friday, but i wouldnt even count it since its a cup cake. Let me see us play a real team after last night...

We're fine on offense.

We need to play defense and rebound. Slow down the dribble drive by our outside defenders and then be prepared to help on the interior. Defense and rebounding is a LOT about effort, so I still have faith. I have faith these guys with all their athletic abilities will look at the front of their jersey and give a dam about somebody taking the ball to the basket.

I think Hanner and Bielfeldt, Michigan's backup center, math up really well. This dude was lost all game. If they guard each other, they could trade lay ups all night.

could Hanner make a layup?

Wow. Those highlights compared to our current team are night and day. I've forgotten how valuable Cody was. I was so spoiled watching that team in AH.

I think one of the most important things on a basketball team is balance. Offense/defense, inside/outside. That team, and usually the best teams, have balance. They don't have great deficiencies where they can be exploited.
This team(and last year's) have great imbalances. We can and will be exploited and the most unsettling thing seems to be that when I look long term at next year's incoming recruits I don't see anyone there that will go very far towards correcting that imbalance!
As a side note I find it interesting that the three seasons before Crean had Zeller his team's struggled, the two years since Zeller has been gone his team's have/are/will struggle...I think Cody brought a lot more to the table than some people realized...and Crean better find another Zeller!

Love the play around the 1:45 mark. VO with the and-1 and you hear him scream when it goes it. That team was all heart and hustle, we really need that. I will always support our team, but the last two years just don't 'get it' like Jordy, VO, C-Wat, Cody, and Will.

I don't care who we lost to graduation or the NBA. That's no excuse for playing without energy and effort. I think it starts with crean and the whole culture of the team has been affected. It's maddening because we have some legit talent. I'm ready for a complete regime change.

IU lost several big D1 players to other teams. Also, the loss of Zeller, Vonleh, and Fisher put us where we are today. We need to get behind Crean and get a big for next year.

almost every big time program has these types of losses. While I'm willing to support Crean I'm not willing to blindly support him.
A person develops a track record. There are several things about his track record that I think a lot of folks are having a hard time supporting.

I don't think I.U. is a big time program
anymore. Remember the " We're back" t-shirts? That alone shows the HOOSIERS have been irrelevant for most of the past 15 yrs or so. I think it will get worse before it gets better. I live Indiana bball, but that's how I see it.
