Hoosiers96 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 How late? Surely not Spring right? that was his initial plans Quote
Popular Post hoosierpap Posted October 15, 2014 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2014 He changes his picks constantly whenever Meyer does. He often picks IU and then changes. Idk what his deal is with IU, but he always favors us initially He is based in Indiana, he is young, he runs with anything pro-IU - imo. Still trying to find an explaination as to the Mizzou cut. Reports were that he enjoyed the visit and had some specifics that made it seem like it wasn't total lip service. You couple that with the Fulford/Huntington Prep connection, which I know to be strong, and it doesn't make any sense. Bryant continues to reiterate that he is waiting until spring - which does help IU I believe as CCG said - so, why cut Mizzou now? I know recruitments can be annoying to some, hence cutting lists, but Mizzou has Fulford? He recruited the Bryant to Huntington. He has an established relationship not only as a coach but from a recruitment standpoint. I don't know, it seems like something drastic happened here but we'll see. On the other hand, there seems to be a lot of twitter stuff saying Mizzou isn't out at all. Zagoria has been known to run with things a little bit, so don't put it past him that he minced Mom's words to an extent. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem positive for Mizzou. As for IU and spring, this one is all Chuck. If it were Crean I'd be very concerned about the spring decision. The word is Chuck goes pretty far back with Bryant, and that may have been underestimated in some public reports. He is certainly no IU lean - and that article about SU losing ground that I posted (mentioned a few posts up) was more about Mizzou being in a favorable position rather than anything else- but IU getting him on campus could be the game changer. rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Wow--I check in at lunch and all kinds of news! Would love a Cuse v. IU battle for Bryant---he gets his first look this weekend! I am hearing Coach Martin helped us make up a lot of ground in a short amount of time on this one! Quote
CampHoosier Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 What relationship does Martin have with Bryant. Sorry if this was previously posted Quote
Popular Post DJ Candypants Posted October 15, 2014 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2014 We could potentially return a group of Hanner, Yogi, (Seniors), Troy, Stan & Davis, (Juniors), and Blackman, Holt, Robert Johnson, (Sophomores). With this you could realistically sell Bryant on being a part of a potential final four squad. That and he can come right in and get major minutes. Just my opinion, but I like our chances with this pitch. scots07, lelgar4, rebelhoosier848891 and 5 others 8 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 CampCrean--I read it somewhere--I think at ITH. Bryant is from Rochester, New York and played for New York based Team Scan which Coach Martin is familiar with. Kepner 1 Quote

CampHoosier Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Riddle me this: why is everyone making their choices on the Crystal Ball today when the kid hasn't visited Indiana yet and isn't signing until spring? What indication, other than the Mizzou rumors, would trigger this? mamasa and Kepner 2 Quote

If we retain those 8 players, get OG, Morgan, Bryant and Lyle/Vick/Shake I wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than a 'ship and a banner. Quote

They all switch to the obvious school the day of the commitment once all the info as leaked and it makes it look like the actually know what they are doing hahah Quote
CampHoosier Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 But is it the Mizzou news that's scaring them off? How do people even get wind of these rumors. I really want to know the behind the scenes of recruiting. Which AAU coach gives up dirt and why. Which players talk to people. How reliable the sources are. It's crazy to me that this is a job. Popular Post JuwantGrimeShakes? Posted October 15, 2014 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2014 I also just read an article saying that Syracuse has been losing contact with him? With him coming to campus this weekend and us being his last visit, I like our chances!! The Syracuse boards think there is no way that he isn't theirs and that he has been theirs for two years. They're also total boners. sirhoosierlot, hoosierpap, ChiHoosier5 and 7 others 10 Quote

I feel like I should not have posted that because people are going to interpret it that way. Obviously SU leads now, but he hasn't been to IU so there is definitely still a shot.
