(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

Recommended Posts

Let's let it play out----Bryant can be one of several options in the middle for UK or he can be THE option at IU.  That's very enticing to a lot of players.  Not everyone is going to fall for UK's "reinforcement" bull and be happy with half the minutes and averaging 7 points a game and being recruited over the very next year.  I know he's lower ranked than Bryant but ask Derek Willis how that UK pick is working out for him.

U cannot be serious!? Not that I don't like the roster but it's pretty obvious, even against D2 talent/height that rebounding is going to be a HUGE issue for us this year! Yeah yeah I know Troy is coming back but, he can't solve that all by himself. Come on

We get two of our big men back tonight, and have one more signed on for 2015 already. A few weeks ago, everyone was complaining about the roster turnover. Crean has recruited this team, and I want to see him develop players, which is apparently his strong suit.

Not at all. I would never hold him accountable for the actions of any one player.

What I would hold him accountable for is two years of recruiting in a row where he doesn't address our needs. All resources available should be poured toward securing a near-court-ready big for the 2015 class. The decisions of individual recruits doesn't fall on the coach, but the direction of recruiting classes does.

There is a lot of scholarship room talk in this thread for example. If Bryant is concerned about scholarship room then mistakes were made in recruiting already. I love OG and Juwon and can't wait for them to wear the candy stripes, but our true need is for a center.

Like you said, players decisions don't fall on the coach. We have been there recruiting Bryant and Zimmerman and lots of big men, just don't seem to be deciding to come here

Zimmerman's mom said we've stopped recruiting him despite being in his top 10.

We are already over-signed by 2. We would need 4 to leave or give up a scholarship to add Bryant and Lyle. Let's pretend 1 player goes to the NBA.  What 3 wouldn't be coming back? Priller, April, Zeisloft, Hoetzel, Hartman?  Hartman should be back. Zeisloft should come back. Hoetzel has a chance to be a good player. So, Priller, April, and who else would have to leave?

I'm not a fan of the over signing either. But, Bryant and Lyle would be serious upgrades and the way things are now player turnover is gonna happen anyway.

"They have a lot going on," Linda said. "It seems like we went down there under false pretenses. They didn't tell us anything about failed drug tests or that type of thing going on. My son doesn't need to be around that stuff."

What other respectable parent doesn't feel the same way

Another reason CTC needs replaced.

As for Indiana, Bryant said she and her son have been turned off by the Hoosiers' recent spate of bad news, issues that have included failed drug tests and underage drinking. Six of Indiana's 13 scholarship players have been implicated in one or the other over the past year.

I'm gonna wait to hear what comes out of Syracuse first. If our stuff turned them off, then I have to imagine Cuse's skeletons will too. They may need to start looking else where.

Academic stuff can be put aside over drugs/alcohol to parents. If they feel as if their kid can get an easy A or be around people who smoke and drink, they'll take the former

Wow. How many people up top will it take to read this before Crean is gone?
