biteoftheapple Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Maeyland, I hope this was their best game today. They look very good. rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Yeah---Maryland looked good. Maryland 75--MSU 59---Final! Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Drilling down----Maryland was led by Trimble with 24 points---1 rebound--3 assists---and 1 steal. Maryland also got 23 points--12 rebounds---1 assist from Layman. For---MSU----Dawson had 14 points---10rebounds---1 steal---and 4 blocks. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Man, Melo Trimble is good. 21 first half points vs. Sparty. I love Jimbo, but he doesn't have a prayer for Freshy of the Year. I think you're right as things stand right now. I haven't compared their stats----but it seems Russell and Trimble are both putting up better numbers overall. JBJ got the edge over Russell in the head to head match-up--- but overall Russell is ahead. Objectively---Right now JBJ appears 3rd for FOY honors. Honestly-----I think RoJo's off to a better start in the Big Ten then JBJ! It's still early and a lot can change---would love to see JBJ get HOT! WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 True Story------I was flipping through satellite channels to find the UK--Bama game on ESPN and I accidentally went past it and landed on NBA-TV and they were showing a D-League game. I chuckled----smiled---and thought to myself----SAME THING! I am surprised UK is not playing on there. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Pitt and SMU win easy home games. Syracuse loses to Clemson in a road tilt. Butler locked in a tight one at Georgetown. rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Gotta root for Butler in that Georgetown game. Hoosierboy1980, IUsafety and LazOffTheBench 3 Quote
LazOffTheBench Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Good close game between Butler and Georgetown. Butler up 57-56 with less than 2 minutes left. Really enjoy watching Roosevelt Jones. What a warrior. rebelhoosier848891, WayneFleekHoosier and GloryDays 3 Quote

LazOffTheBench Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Tough loss for Butler. Jones gave it his all but it wasn't enough. rebelhoosier848891 and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Pitt with another win today 70-65 over Georgia Tech. They have quietly moved to 13-5 and 3-2 in the ACC. Looking like another quality win for our Hoosiers! Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Really wanted Butler to pull that win out----but like IU---they played Georgetown tough too. Quote
HoosierAloha Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 PSU fouled with 12 sec in reg, up 3. PU missed the ft, but got the board, made a 3 to for e OT. I was trying to figure this out. If they fouled up 3 to put pu on the line why not foul again before he made it out to the arc? Dumb play that cost PSU the game. IUsafety 1 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Good to see someone is going to get a loss between Maryland and MSU today too! Big Ten is still wide open at the moment. B1G is not wide open. #1 Wis. #2 Maryland #3 MSU #4-#10 wide open #11 - # 14 Rutgers, Minny, Northwestern, PSU I think Iowa is in the upper tier of that fluffly middle of the B1G. Quote

Hovadipo Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 B1G FOY Race Trimble Russell Jimbo The other two are more complete players at this point. Yeah I honestly can't name a relevant freshman outside of those 3. Trimble and Russell will be back and forth all season. Both have absolutely blown me away. Jimmy is a DISTANT third at this point. And he's still a pretty damn good freshy too. GloryDays and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

McIntosh Is next after those with a sizable gap, I think. The scouting experts did pretty well this year. These 3 in contention were the highest rated. Numerous experts praised McIntosh, calling him a steal. For those that constantly want to discount rankings ( which I know aren't the end all be all) this year serves to validate those services. BGleas Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 I'd put Robert Johnson right in there with McIntosh. Their numbers are pretty close. RoJo also validates your rankings point too. agree.
