Blind Resume Comparison - Which one is better?
Team A:
  • Record 7-2
  • Wins vs  teams rated (KenPom) #105, 286, 288, 306, 316, 321, 327
Team B:
  • Record 7-2
  • Wins vs teams rated (KenPom) #66, 116, 128, 188, 260, 270, 325

Current ranking? One of these is ranked #21 in both polls.
Team B clearly has better resume so I assume A is Kentucky

A view as his hand initially comes in contact with the ball. Looks like the best angle of the relative position of the defender, the rim, and the ball.

In my opinion? Not goaltending:

JD Davison swatted away a Fabian White Jr. shot that seemed to be on its way down. But no goaltending was called.

You actually can't see if his hand is in contact with the ball in this picture, that's not clear at all, and in the vid clips, which are from behind so you can see, it very much appears that he tips it away above the rim.

Let's add Team C:

  • Record 6-2
  • Wins vs teams rated (KenPom) # 187, 215, 226, 282, , 297, 351

Team C is currently ranked #17 in both polls

Again, the angle behind the player shows the ball going away from the rim.  It had no chance of going in.  That does figure in when goal tending is called.  It's not just whether it is above the rim or not.

And I'm far from alone in seeing it as not a goaltend.

And there were only three people whose opinion really mattered and they all saw it the same way.

Does any of this matter? Let me step back for a moment.
My first post on this was about the clip of UH players angrily kicking things going into the tunnel because of an obvious goal tend - that is what they were angry about. You responded you disagree. Ok, i disagree, the clips i’ve seen show what appears to be a goal tend, and a lot of people saw it that way. And for what it’s worth, that people are still talking about it shows it was an issue - refs got it right or wrong, game is over either way.

But you know, I don’t care one way or the other, i simply said that’s what the UH players were angry about. If this is about who is right - i really don’t care.

Seriously....this is a message board.  Is it really out of line to....you know....debate an important play in a game involved two high level programs?

And if none of matters anyway, please refer to what have put in bold face in your post.  It's obvious it still matters to you who is 'right' since you refer to it as an 'obvious goal tend' and 'a lot of people saw it that way'.

If you watch the video and think it's a goal tend....I don't know what to say to you, because it's not.

Seriously it’s more important to you then me. Again, though ignored, It was about why the UH players were pissed. I just said I don’t care. Later
