Good on Valpo for moving to the MVC. I still want four more Indiana teams to play in Indy for the Crossroads Classic.

I agree that would be great, but I don't see it happening. From what I've read, the IU game is always the most attended of the current two games by quite a lot. I think the attendance for any more teams could potentially dwindle even more, especially if they are on different days. Maybe if they made it into a tournament it might be different, but I doubt IU is interested in that.

Nigel Hayes.

Went from an "athletic student" to a "student athlete" in four years. An absolute poster child for the beauty of rooting for a team of players that go to college to actually learn something... while also playing basketball. Nigel Hayes's words upon graduation from WIsconsin:

But we will be sooo much better coached.

IU will be a top 4 team in the B1G and be in the NCAA tournament. I'm perfectly fine with that for the first year. Obviously not the goal nor the standard IU wants year in and year out though. But for Archie's first year, I would gladly take that outcome

I wouldn't shock me honestly. Thon Maker was just a lottery pick and he's played pretty well for the Bucks. Diallo is a freak athlete ( 44.5 in vert) with good size, lot of potential there.

Ehhh...Nigel Hayes also said he can't be racist because he's black. I find no wisdom in his words.

That's why you go to college. To be young and smart with edge of the page (or at times, outside the edge of the page) opinions, and by the time you leave, you learn a lot.

That's Nigel Hayes.

Did he learn from those words? Or is he still insisting that they're right? Imo he didn't learn crap, he's an instigator who doesn't care about anybody else's opinions. That's Nigel Hayes. He still thinks he can't be racist because of his skin color. That's low brow.

I have to try to look past that kind of stuff with celebrities/athletes because a large percentage of them say stupid stuff. There wouldn't be many people to root for or watch if I didn't. Watching LeBron campaign with Hill Dawg was tough for me lol.

Yeah, when we're celebrating their athleticism it's easy to look past. When we're celebrating their intelligence it's impossible to do so.

He might be a bright guy, idk, but I stumbled across his Twitter one day and that definitely wasn't the impression I got. Seems kind of ignorant about some stuff imo, but oh well.

I agree with everything that he wrote in the article and quite frankly I don't think he is wrong. He simply is trying to say that you shouldn't be afraid to speak your mind and have a voice in society for that it what the first amendment allows you to do. I think it is all about finding your passion and getting involved in things that matter to you. He also is saying to college graduates and student-athletes don't let society dictate who you should be and that you should be whatever you want to be.

Maybe find a little hypocrisy.

Naughty!  Naughty!

Former Bosse star JaQuan Lyle arrested overnight

Ohio State University point guard JaQuan Lyle was arrested early Saturday morning, per the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office booking records.

The Evansville native and former Bosse High School standout was charged with public intoxication, criminal mischief to a vehicle and disorderly conduct - all class B misdemeanors. He was released on $150 cash bond.

According to police records, off-duty police officers witnessed a male, later identified as Lyle, being escorted from the Franklin St. bar Pistons for being intoxicated. The report alleges that Lyle punched the front door and walked outside and punched a police car. Police then arrested Lyle and transported him to the Vanderburgh County Corrections Center.

Lyle, 21, is headed into his junior year with Ohio State. He averaged 11.4 points, 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 29.3 minutes per game last season for the Buckeyes.
