This is the first time I’ve watched ISU for any extended time. 21 looks like he should be on a church rec league squad. Can’t imagine him holding on D versus very many good bigs, but he’s been effective here so far.

They are not playing good at all and pretty much everyone says that about Avila and he ends up torching whoever they are playing.  ISU will be lucky to keep him next year

Don’t get me wrong, I like his offensive game. I probably watched 5 or so min of them against MSU and don’t remember him sticking out as so unathletic. Murray St is playing a bunch of small guys, tho, so maybe that’s why.

Overall, ISU is a good watch.

Sparty game was tough.  He was in foul trouble the whole game and only played like 18 min

You misspelled bad bet.

Also, the model is currently closed for repairs

No such thing as a bad bet, only bad outcomes. Sycamores just didn’t execute, I can’t make the shots for them.

Seeing how far behind he was athletically in that game gave me hope that ISU won’t have to beat away the big dogs to keep him.

If he wants to get paid, he will though.

Long Island needlessly fouls Central Conn State trying to dribble out the clock. CCS hits both FTs with 4 seconds to win by 9 and cover the 8.5.

The model has been restored and is fully functional. And don’t ask why I’m betting on CCS/Long Island

Does your model take into account the likelihood of overtimes?

Most people would’ve been sweating Ryan Kalkbrenner 8+ rebounds yesterday when he had 5 at the end of regulation, but my model knew that game would be going to triple OT and that he would get his 8th early in the 3rd.

Doesn’t get much less surprising. That is a tough, tough job.

2 days before ISU will be in town playing at UIC...

DON'T DO IT SCHERTZY

Way too smart to make that move. Would love to see them take an outside the box shot and try to figure out a different path. Hell, hire Greg Tonagel. But it’ll either be some re-tread nearing the end or some high major asst who’s starting to feel his career clock starting to tick. Now that I think about, I’d call freaking Ron Hunter. All that dude’s done is go from bad gig to bad gig and make them respectable.

Funny you mention Hunter...I was watching the end of Memphis/Tulane and kept cracking up every time they showed him without realizing it was him for a while. That guy is a character.
