And now Jamie Dixon doing Jamie Dixon things by calling a timeout instead of advancing the ball first. Smh

I wasn't watching, so not sure the sequence you're talking about, but assuming it was last few seconds of a one possession game... might Dixon just like his chances better with a particular inbounding play where maybe guards can use their quickness/speed to get out into space and find an open shot more easily vs. getting it up to halfcourt and having the defense packed into a smaller area? Again I didn't see so missing context and not trying to be argumentative... just genuinely curious to hear your POV from a basketball perspective why in this particular situation it was classic Dixon lol

FAU has battled back to take a 2 pt lead with 3 mins left. Dusty is back in good graces, for now, lol

Davis just hit a cold blooded 3 to tie it up with 14 sec

For the record, I think he’s a good coach but often a poor strategist. Not every good coach is great in-game.

But getting the ball near half court with that much time (would’ve been about 3 sec. if they threw it in and immediately called a TO) allows you to run a set. It gives you a chance to catch and drive or even catch and make another pass. You can go for 3 or 2.  There’s a reason the NBA gives teams the ball at half court automatically on those time outs—it increases scoring chances.

But if you just want to dribble up the court and pull up for a contested 3, which is what they did after the time out, they could’ve done that without stopping play and allowing Kansas to sub defensively and get matched up. I really don’t get calling a timeout there to do what every bad team does in that situation which is let a guard put his head down and dribble into a contested airball from 25ft. Just inbound it and go, you’ll get the same result. Maybe even slightly better because it didn’t look like Kansas was applying any pressure in the backcourt.

The new AAC might be one of my favorite conferences to watch play.  They are the new MWC.

It’s good but let’s not get carried away.  Nothing is better then watching the MWC

How can anything top the plodding, tackle basketball of the B1G!?
