Maybe the Illinois players have bad breath.

In terms of the Big Ten standings and IU trying to get a double bye --

currently IU would be the third seed given the 3-1 record against the teams tied (IU, Illinois, Maryland, and Michigan).

However, that's a very tenuous lead.  If Northwestern ends up in a tie with IU, it hurts IU's seeding because of it costing pretty much the tiebreaker with any team involved (except Illinois and potentially Michigan or Iowa).

Essentially IU needs to win their remaining home games and need Rutgers to lose to either @Penn State or Northwestern and IU is getting the double bye.

Michigan State still factors in, though.  And the Spartans have the easiest slate left -- home against Ohio State, at Iowa, at Nebraska, and a home game against Minnesota that the Spartans are trying to make up.  If they got 3-1 against that group they would also be 12-8 and unlike IU, own a victory against Maryland which helps them in a tiebreaker.  It would help IU if Northwestern stays out of the tiebreaker.

You are correct. They are only a factor if Illinois loses to Ohio State this weekend. So as long as Illinois doesn’t falter against the woeful Buckeyes, then IU is in great shape.

Is that Michigan State/Minnesota game expected to be made up?  I assume they would have to rearrange other games next week since MSU is scheduled to play Tuesday and Minnesota not until Thursday.

Stetson was down 1 with 10 sec to go and the refs called a ghost foul with 2.1 sec to go.    Kid only hit 1 so they are going to OT.  Lipscomb should of won in regulation

Lipscomb wins it in OT
