Uspshoosier Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 B1G is going to go 6-1 today B1G already guaranteed a split if they lose every game tomorrow Quote
croneleoni Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 So close to a Big Ten sweep today against the ACC. I mean...it is understandable because Purdue was only up 20 points during their game. [emoji854] It looks like the Big Ten clinched the challenge because the MSU and Virginia game canceled.Sent from my SM-G981U using BtownBanners mobile app HoosierAloha and JaybobHoosier 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Butler postpones scheduled game Monday vs. St. John's. More COVID-19 issues. Next game is Dec. 16 vs. Villanova. Bulldogs have not played since Nov. 25, and that is their only game so far. Scheduled to play IU in the Crossroads Classic on the 19th (or not). thebigweave, IUc2016 and HoosierAloha 3 Quote

mdn82 Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Man, a lot of teams are cancelling right now. Who else would be surprised with them “postponing” the season after what K just did and a lot of teams cancelling? Quote

I think there are high school teams using the "abundance of caution" line to get out of playing certain games. I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing more of that here. mdn82 1 Quote

Maybe I’m being insensitive, but haven’t we seen the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NCAAF be able to successfully complete seasons. Obviously it’s more difficult, and there are inherent risks, but these guys get paid a ton of money for a reason. Show some flexibility. And as always, if individual players, or teams, feel unsafe playing, let them make that decision to cancel. Don’t cancel the whole thing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app I have views that infringe on the standards established by the board moderators and members as for the reason why this whole thing got out of hand. However, I'll keep those views to myself. The politicking that goes on at all levels of sports from teams, conferences, coaches, and committees has led us to where we are. mdn82, ALASKA HOOSIER and cthomas 2 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app I think the NBA was absolute success story. The others? Mixed bag at best. Many games have been cancelled in all others. But comparing or lumping the NCAA to professional sports isn’t the best way either. Professional athletes can limit the people they are around regularly. Even within a facility. Most college athletes don’t have that luxury. Testing has become more abundant at all levels. Professional leagues have more reserves to make a true bubble happen. I am honestly scared to see what hodgepodge the NCAA does for March Madness. Which I guarantee will still occur. That event is the revenue for the NCAA. Two years off won’t happen one way or another. Stuhoo Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Feels like the NBA did an awesome job, baseball was 'good enough', and football has been...challenging. May be largely a product of the increasing number of people that each of these sports has to supervise within the restrictions--NBA has the most ability to control, then baseball, then football. Also, pro sports can control their people off the field more easily than college. Way harder to create a bubble for the IU football team with teenagers living on a big campus in densely packed dorms and apartments than for the Colts. mdn82 1 Quote

Watching the Cardinals play about 45 games in the last 30 calendar days was delightful from this Cubs fan. Don’t tell Boob I said that. He won’t like me talking negative about his Cards. Quote
