Crazy how it all works out. Mooney and South Dakota lost to South Dakota St in the summit finals last year. Mike Braun went on to be one of the stories of last years tourney. Both stars had a chance to grad transfer to bigger schools. Braun stayed at SDS and lost in their conference finals and Mooney elected to go Texas Tech and now he is killing it in the final 4.

I remember watching that conference finals last year between SDSU and ND and thinking that Mooney kid is a stud and I’d love to have him on my team. I got super excited when we started recruiting him as a grad transfer...not surprised at the success he’s had in this tournament. Just an overall great player with a high basketball IQ.

After learning that auburn actually wasn’t going to the ship, he tore apart the seating area (you can see all the downed seats when the official is escorting him out)

He should. He is a borderline first round pick. It's one thing if you're a sophomore or junior but he has a chance to be the best player at Duke next year. He could move up a few spots.

Agreed. There's no logic behind it. Why not allow the free throw shooter to move in halfway to the basket if he misses the front end of the double bonus?  It makes about the same amount of sense.

It takes the advantage from a good pressing defense. Agreed, very poor rule

Maybe this is why Crean had been saving all those timeouts? Preparing his teams in hopes one day in the future they’d be able to get the ball at half court when they were down double digits.
