Agree with this...

In 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons I believe we were top 10 in the country in points ATO. So did coach just forget how to draw up an inbounds play, was it Zeller drawing the plays up, maybe it was coach Cheaney drawing up the plays? We had a young team last season that did everything it could possibly do wrong to choke against PSU at home and now coach Crean can't draw up a play. Weird...

This stat is only relevant in relation to where we ranked in points not after a timeout which I believe we were like top 3. So, we were better within the flow of the game than we were when the coaches called timeout and ran a play

I don't agree with the OP but this is just as naive. Sudfeld just got hurt... What does that have to do with our football team being atrocious to date or our defense giving up 56 points?

Didn't watch the game. I was out and about. How'd the offense look the 2nd half?

I gotta agree with Shortpace, the 2011-2013 we were one of the better teams in executing inbounds plays.  Many times it was Christian Watford inbounding and then getting it back or Oldadipo doing the same thing.  It's funny though, in Sports, particularly Indiana basketball, success is forgotten when struggle is more recent.  I know that last year was a dumpster fire, but I'm thinking this has much more to do with talent, or lack there of, rather than a staff that has Coach Crean and two other former Head Coaches at the Division 1 level simply being inept at drawing up plays.  Did they coach a bad game when we beat number 2 Wisconsin?

If I remember the SI article (think that was the source) correctly it was mostly Hulls or Watford from deep or Zeller under the basket that lead to such efficiency.  However, we all know that Zeller never go the ball down low or we have EVER ran a decent inbound play under Crean so those stats must be from a different IU team.

It had nothing to do with ppg or tempo.  It had everything to do with 1. a TO was called 2.  IU huddled 3. IU scored efficiently (PPP ATO).  I want to say it was around 1.4 PPP ATO.  I'll look for the article later.

Points Per Possession After TurnOver.  And it has EVERYTHING to do with quality of inbounds plays

Step away from the ledge people!

I got away from the Board for a few days because of all the negativity and came back to this?

you know...

it can actually be therapeutic to step away for a minute...

I was in Florida last week...and decided to only observe...

I'm back in Indiana, and feel refreshed and ready to cast my negativity on literally thousands of people I don't know...

Couldn't you have brought some sunshine back to share instead!

listen friend...

I drove to Florida with my wife (whom I love dearly), my 3 kids that still live with me (my oldest is in the Marine Corp as everybody already knows as I mention it whenever I can), my niece, my parents, my brother's family, and my cousin and his wife...

I say all of that to say this...I need a vacation from my vacation...and all of the sunshine in Florida can neither eliminate nor increase the love of family...

the same thing goes for IU family...

right?

Every IU fan has been upset with IU football since the 1960's. Why is this new? Season hasn't started for basketball. Let's let that shake out before we get worked up. Trust me, there is plenty of time for that. But if you're mad about IU football being bad, get in line...it's a long one

I started at IU with Mallory. First year was tough but by year three we were bowling. A few shots at winning the BT during his time. Most of the years we made it to a mid tier bowl and had some success.

Willing to give a little bit of time to Wilson but this year is shaping up to be a big disappointment. Really prefer we set up the non conference games with more winnable games initially. Once he has the program established we can need that up as needed.

Every non conf was winnable. We blew it against BGSU but won every other game

I know we beat Mizzou but I would point to them as a team to not schedule for a few years. Every game is winnable but I think the value of getting to a bowl game is more valuable to us than getting a big non conf win.

I like having a tougher opponent like Mizzou on the non-con schedule.  It can give us a better gauge of where we're at then beating up on a scrub 4 times and helps prepare the team for the smaller margin of error they'll have during the conference season.  Plus it's baptism by fire.

I agree with this 100% that being said.maybe this year wasnt the best example

I can do you one better. I live in Florida and we decided to do a weekend get-away to the beach. First evening we are there we head to the condo pool wearing our IU tees. And who should be in the pool but a group UK fans. Well, that went downhill quickly. Actually, they were very nice people, just a bit misguided.
