Carmelo Anthony had a 1.8 GPA his only year

Recommended Posts

Every year he has done less with more. Loaded rosters yearly and a Carmelo away from not having won a championship in 30+ years of coaching. I also think they are regular cheaters when it comes to recruiting. How else can you explain any kid in his right mind wanting to go to school in that dump of a town? One thing that does surpass his recruiting is his athletes arrest records and getting into trouble. Just never been a fan of his program.

I will always stand by my belief he is one of if not the most overrated coach of all time. How many of his wins are against cream puffs?

Look at him carefully picking his non conference schedule that dude plays NOBODY before the conference season every year. He was forced to play IU last year.

Aside from an early tournament(Maui, Pre-NIT), Syracuse would never leave their campus until conference play. Once every 5 years maybe they would take a long trip to Cornell or Colgate to play a "road" game.

Don't forget the 100+ inches of snow Syracuse gets every winter. They should be getting their first blizzard any day now.

I can't really say much about true road games cuz Duke doesn't really play those before the conference season but I admire Coach K playing powerhouses frequently on neutral floors to simulate a tournament like atmosphere.

Thats why I always think its funny when us IU fans worry about our pre conference schedule. UK, UNC, Duke, Syracuse, and a host of other top tier schools play more than their fair share of cupcakes in their pre conference schedules ever year haha

They definitely play their share of cupcakes, but I think their "marquee" games are better than ours.

We finally have a better--- balanced schedule this year and even our tougher games are winnable. My one gripe is I can't believe we do not have a road game before conference starts on the road. Still---looking forward to a big turnaround this year!

And back to Carmelo---he should have gone to UNC----they could have signed him up for some of their famous "paper classes" and he would have been 4.0 for sure!   :rtfm: Of course---UNC does no wrong in the NCAA's eyes.  Bumper stickers are obviously the bigger problem in college basketball right now!
