What's the deal with the alternates? Why not just include those as invites?

I believe it's about quantity and time. They're set to do X number of drills and measurements for Y number of NBA hopefuls. Also like others have said the older guys have been seen by a lot if NBA scouts. Yogi's best bet is to be invited to a camp or summer league workout with a good organization as an undrafted unrestricted FA. I would like to hear Yogi's name called on draft night though.

Major Laker fan here.

LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKEEEEEEEEEEEE

The best coach available, even out of Thibs and Scotts. Lakers clearly waited for Thibs and Brooks to commit elsewhere. A young champion who has learned from some of the best coaches such as Phil Jackson and Lute Olson. He's the youngest coach in the NBA right now (HC) which will be great for his communication skills in the locker room and recruiting free agents.

Now we won't rush this come back. We have young talent. We could have a top three draft pick, if our pick is not top three, 76ers get it this year and we'll get it next year. No big deal if we lose it, Lakers stole a top 5 pick in Jordan Clarkson and a gem in Larry Nance Jr.

We will aim for KD and possibly trade our top three pick (if we keep it). Don't expect the Lakers to go after all the big free agents. Our GM, Mitch, has already stated he's not going to sign free agents to only make us mediocre. He wants to save money for next years amazing free agents class (Oladipo, Curry, etc).

If the Lakers were smart...they'd get rid of everyone in charge that put them into the hole they're in. Whoever have Kobe the extension should never be allowed around a sports organization again. The Lakers need to keep their pick no matter what. Build through the draft. The #3 pick can get them Dragan Bender, Buddy Hield, Jamal Murray, Kris Dunn or Domantas Sabonis. Just won't get Simmons or Ingram. The last thing the Lakers need are more crap contracts because of the tards in charge. Lakers fans do always seem a bit delusional though lol. Jordan Clarkson a Top 5 pick? Not quite. Top 10? Probably.

Can't wait to see the Heat wipe the floor with the Raptors. Hopefully DeRozan can shoot better than 35% for the series, probably not, since whenever a team can focus on him he is god awful.

The Kobe contract was a blessing , in hindsight. It allowed us to have up to $70 million dollars this summer, which is great. We can use that money this summer and next summer when the cap rises again.

Mitch and Jim Buss run the show. Mitch proved he still has the juice by signing Luke Walton in one day to a 5 year 25 deal.

Honestly everything has fallen in place for the lakers to build with a young core. All the contracts and free agents not signing with us has honestly been great for our future.

Well Jordan Clarkson was a first team all rookie as the 46th overall pick. Pretty impressive.

Thank god the Pacers didn't win. If Pacers would've won, Demar would probably be on his way to Laker Land this summer.

Pacers need to make dramatic changes. They need a PG. They need a more talented bench. They should move Ellis for a big if possible. Vogel.... I think the Pacers should look elsewhere. His plays are lackluster at best. Him and Crean must be buddies.

Great year for PG. Glad he's back, just wish he was on my Lakers.

It is a blessing if they can keep their pick for this year. If they don't try and sign superstars in FA land they'll be fine... they ruin everything they could by doing so. They should also trade Julius Randle for a Top 10 pick. He is never going to be more than a bench player. But teams are stupid enough to think otherwise.

Nah, Vogel did well with what he had. They're not going to find a better coach on the market. Bring him back. Pacers are in a good spot with PG and Turner, just have to make the right moves in the off-season. I have no faith in Bird to do that, though.

I don't see a ton of superstar free agents flocking to the Lakers this summer. Obviously, KD is the big fish, but he isn't going to the Lakers as currently constituted. L.A. will need to pull off some moves, ala Ainge getting Ray Allen prior to convincing KG to come to Boston, before KD will go there. He's in his prime, he's not going to rebuild with Russell, Clarkson, Randle, and potentially a rookie from this draft (if LA gets to keep their pick), and he's not going to sign-up until another star is in place.

Unless OKC gets swept by S.A. or loses 4-1, which is certainly possible, I think the most likely scenario is KD signing a deal with OKC like LeBron did with Cleveland, which would result in KD lining up his contract with Westbrook's.

It will be an interesting offseason though. You've got the Durant decision, and then based on how ping pong balls bounce the most interesting teams of the summer are probably the Lakers and Celtics.

Randle averaged a double double his rookie season. That's pretty damn impressive for only being 6'8" and having T-Rex arms. Hell, when they played the Pacers, he had 19 boards. He has the tools to be very special i think. Once he learns how to shoot and finish with his right hand, he's going to be very nice. I think Randle has the second highest potential behind Russell.

In fact. Julius Randle finished with one more double double than Draymond Green this year. 34-33 (regular season). 34 Double Double as a Rookie who is only 6'8" and came off the bench for 25+ games this year? That's not bad...

If we lose the pick this year, no big deal, we get it next year. We won't make the playoffs next year so the pick should be pretty decent in a very loaded draft class.

Pacers need to land Conley Jr. Throw their $25 million dollars at him and call it a summer.

I've been saying this for a while. Sign Conley and then either have George Hill or Ellis run with the bench unit. Need a dependable shooter off the bench, too. Solo played really well this series. I was never a fan, but maybe there's something there.

Randle has basically hit his ceiling. He is a terrible passer. He does have his t-rex arms. Terrible shooter. Terrible defender. A very self centered attitude. I think the Lakers could trick a team into taking him for a high draft pick. And the Lakers could get a player to easily replace him.

And I'm not just "hating" on him because he went to UK. I don't care where players in the NBA went. Because I really like Karl Anthony-Towns and Devin Booker. But I don't think Randle has the potential you believe he has. When he was in HS you could believe he'd be a star in the NBA. But college proved otherwise as he struggles against long, athletic bigs.. and at the 4/5 spot... that's what you're playing against nowadays.

Not sure the Lakers do better than Randle in this draft.
