Hoosier Sports Live's blog site is making claims it is also hearing strange recruiting news about IU as well and making comments about "have you ever dated a girl who is now with another guy and you just can't let her go---that's IUBBall recruiting these days"-----I don't know who they are referring to but it could be Lyle or Kasongo. Stay tuned.

I'd be careful reading anything from there... My past experience is he has zero connections that aren't other IU a sites & Twitter.... Consider yourself warned.

[quote name="LazOffTheBench" post="91913" timestamp="1413296269"]I honestly don't believe Crean is interested in recruiting Lyle anymore. Too many academic and character issues to deal with there. But it wouldn't surprise me if Crean continues to be in communication with JaQuan, taking a fatherly interest in his well-being and offering him guidance. That's something JaQuan really needs.[/quote)Laz, do you really think Crean is giving advice when he's not recruiting him at the same time? Its not like we don't have scholarships to offer.

I'm saying it. I'll go 60/40 on him being at IU on January 5th to start the second semester.

Just too many signs to ignore, seems like we can't ever shake this kid or he can ever shake IU.

Wow.

That is a tremendous comment. 60/40. Wow.

I am going to go on record. I think we can make this work. I think his desire to be great/NBA will fuel the fire. Lyle is very good. I watched him at Huntington Prep and AAU Spiece and he is a BIG guard that is very talented. He has good vision and passing too. I know it's AGAINST popular opinion but I welcome this move.

Worse case, he spends a Semester at IU and then sayonara if he is acting up.

Remember that Jaquan Lyle played with Thomas Bryant at Huntington Prep last year. Not sure about their relationship or if hurts or helps our recruitment of Bryant but I just thought it was important to keep in mind.

IF we land both of these players, the talent on the roster cannot be ignored. I think we have enough players on the team with their heads on straight to keep Jaquan in check. I've always been a fan of his skills, just hoping that he can grow up.

I want to further state that I endorse Shake as option 1a based on character mainly.

However, to have a borderline 5 star talent to fall back on is a great option. Especially one that can help this year. Still a ton of IFs but I could get behind this move easily.
