323SGrant Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 IIRC, some of the mail JB received when he was initially committed to IU, was from Michigan State. rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote

IU Hoosier41 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Hoosier Sports Live's blog site is making claims it is also hearing strange recruiting news about IU as well and making comments about "have you ever dated a girl who is now with another guy and you just can't let her go---that's IUBBall recruiting these days"-----I don't know who they are referring to but it could be Lyle or Kasongo. Stay tuned. I'd be careful reading anything from there... My past experience is he has zero connections that aren't other IU a sites & Twitter.... Consider yourself warned. Quote

IU Hoosier41 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Is it our old friend Hoopsters site?!?!?! Haha no.. Hoopater has a facebook group... That's it :) Quote
LazOffTheBench Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I honestly don't believe Crean is interested in recruiting Lyle anymore. Too many academic and character issues to deal with there. But it wouldn't surprise me if Crean continues to be in communication with JaQuan, taking a fatherly interest in his well-being and offering him guidance. That's something JaQuan really needs. rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 One poster on another site that I KNOW has inside connections to IUBBall says there is "conversation" both ways and that's also the word here in Southern Indiana---so we shall see. Not close to a commitment yet though. I think the Shake decision tomorrow brings this into clearer focus! Kepner, Stuhoo and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

IU Hoosier41 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm saying it. I'll go 60/40 on him being at IU on January 5th to start the second semester. Just too many signs to ignore, seems like we can't ever shake this kid or he can ever shake IU. WayneFleekHoosier, All_Hoosiers, CR3AMnCR1MS0N and 4 others 7 Quote

I think we can make this work. I think his desire to be great/NBA will fuel the fire. Lyle is very good. I watched him at Huntington Prep and AAU Spiece and he is a BIG guard that is very talented. He has good vision and passing too. I know it's AGAINST popular opinion but I welcome this move. Worse case, he spends a Semester at IU and then sayonara if he is acting up. BTOWN Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Remember that Jaquan Lyle played with Thomas Bryant at Huntington Prep last year. Not sure about their relationship or if hurts or helps our recruitment of Bryant but I just thought it was important to keep in mind. IF we land both of these players, the talent on the roster cannot be ignored. I think we have enough players on the team with their heads on straight to keep Jaquan in check. I've always been a fan of his skills, just hoping that he can grow up. CR3AMnCR1MS0N, rebelhoosier848891, Happydaze and 3 others 6 Quote

I want to further state that I endorse Shake as option 1a based on character mainly. However, to have a borderline 5 star talent to fall back on is a great option. Especially one that can help this year. Still a ton of IFs but I could get behind this move easily. CR3AMnCR1MS0N, Happydaze and MemphisHoosier 3 Quote
Hovadipo Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 But how guys? How do we even pull this off? Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 You're making me nervous fellas. So IUHoosiers41---you going on gut or more than gut? That's all you have to say. Down here in Evansville they claim Lyle wanted to commit once before but IU would not take it at the time because it could scare off someone else we were recruiting. Truth? WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I am not there yet. Shake is 1----Lyle is a distant 2. But if Shake says OU as we expect tomorrow---that changes everything! WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Hoosier2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 So I'm guessing that he would be a walk on during the second semester and if things workout he would receive a scholarship for the remaining time? Or just go pro after the second semester. Idk I give up. rebelhoosier848891 1 Quote
