Hovadipo Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I firmly believe that he will wear the Candy Stripes. I think he very much wants to. Do you think he very much wants to wear candy stripes, or very much wants to be playing college basketball and we seem to be willing to do that ASAP? jmsgws 1 Quote
jmsgws Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I get it, that he is a good basketball player. However, from all of the things I have seen, I just don't want him here. Apparently team chemistry was a big problem last year, and it is also apparently much better this year. Why throw a wrench into the gears? I just don't think he is worth the risk. Buck Naked 1 Quote
AKHoosier Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I see what u r saying but at the same time lets see how messy things r at semester before we worry. To put it simple if things r going great then dont mess it up but if its going south crean may need him to help save the season and his job If the season is already heading south by the semester's end, there won't be much of a season left to save. It won't be because we're lacking options in our backcourt. Jaquan Lyle is really, really good, but he's not a Zeller-like savior. (Unless Yogi or Blackmon go down with injury) Quote

(Unless Yogi or Blackmon go down with injury)I agree if it is going bad by then there is really no hope but my idea of messy by then was winning all the cupcakes but losing the few hard games no big wins. I am just saying what can it hurt if we know what we have may not b enough Quote

(Unless Yogi or Blackmon go down with injury) I would think it would be for 15 and not this mid-season. I almost get the feeling that he is seen as Yogi's replacement. If yogi graduates he may want to play for pay next year. Then the back court is less crowded and we have a big lead guard.I know the NBA is a stretch but Europe's not.Not advocating but just putting out possibilities.Who really knows whats going on inside the program and what the staff thinks they need? rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I am hearing talk there are discussions to bring him in at semester---still don't know how that could work scholarship wise--but before we get the cart before the horse---does he have an IU offer yet? Insiders or those "in the gym"--- did Lyle leave Btown with an actual offer? Quote
Dalton26 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Does Oregon have to release him? It may have been covered but I didn't see it. Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Those are my questions too Dalton26. I thought Oregon had to release him when he failed to academically qualify for enrollment there. I am also curious if we actually have an offer on the table to him? Quote

I feel as though he has an offer as soon as Crean feels he's proven he has matured. Kepner, Hutch89 and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Thank you hoosierpap---I agree that this makes me feel a whole lot better. I have been checking a lot of sites today as I was afraid we might be hearing of his commit. It seems Crean is doing this the right way---expressing our continued interest but hopefully evaluating and demanding that he work on past issues. GloryDays 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 For the doubters... If Shake decides against IU tomorrow...... Watch this......http://youtu.be/yuYjs-YhJa0 It's been a while since we've seen this kind of talent on a highlight video. Keep in mind this is against top competition. Re-post. Just Because. AKHoosier Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Wow, Lyle definitely put on some pounds. And not the good kind. Quote
NoahW35 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I thought he actually looked slimmed down yesterday, but yes he had gotten very out of shape Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 IF he ends up at IU----Jeney will take care of those extra pounds! Quote
Popular Post Bowhunter Posted October 27, 2014 Popular Post Posted October 27, 2014 Lyle is from my hometown. . I just can't keep from rooting for him. I have been a big fan of his talent and I want him here with coach Crean as a father figure, hopefully mentoring him to be the best young man he can be. rebelhoosier848891 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I hear you bowhunter---as a fellow southern Indiana Hoosier---I want to see Lyle succeed too! But---I want his turnaround to start before he gets to IU if that is where he ultimately ends up. I just like what we have going with chemistry and good character kids and don't want a repeat of whatever happened last year! Buck Naked and Stuhoo 2 Quote
yogisballin Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Me too, it's only a matter of time. I just hope it's for 2015 and not this coming season though, because things could get messy if joined at the semester. Other than being mentioned on here. Has it been talked about him possibly joining for the 2nd semester? If so, where is it coming from? Quote
