Trey Lyle's dad with a BBN rap song?

If Austin Powers can get shagged with bad teeth, a coach should be able to recruit with them!

Trey Lyles will be lucky to get on the floor this year, and I think it's fitting

Where'd you hear that at? Everything I've read/heard says otherwise.

My momma always said "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

I'll give me .02 on this situation.  Some of us learn how to be good/great people because our parents are class acts, while some struggle through life learning what is right from their parents doing wrong.  It appears Mr. Lyles loves him some him.

Someone mentioned an injury earlier but I thought he would for sure see plenty of PT this year as well

He didn't play at all in the Bahamas, so he must be hurt or something. Season's still a couple months away, though.

EDIT: Article from June says he is out due to a medical procedure on his leg, but that he (at the time, at least) was expected to be back for practice in October.

This group of freshmen are just mature for their age. Great parenting IMO.

I honestly don't know if the poster was being sarcastic or not.

So Trey played basketball in Indiana---committed to IU--- then decommitted and went to Kentucky?

And Trey who lives in the USA went and played for Team Canada against Team USA?

And Trey who was selected to the Indiana All Star team did not play with the other the Indiana All Stars against the Kentucky All Stars because he was too "dehydrated" from playing on other All Star teams all summer?

However, when his father was interviewed by the Kentucky media about why he did not play with Team Indiana he said that what was important was for Trey to be ready to play basketball at UK...

Hmmmm---alrighty then!

From "CoachCal.com"...COMIC GOLD! A quote from Trey Lyles, now to be forever known as "Captain Irony"!!!

“I’m a commitment guy,” Lyles said. “Once I’m with a group of people, I don’t want to leave them behind. I had a chance to go to prep school my sophomore or junior year, but the friendships and the relationships I had with the coaches and my teammates really just kept me there.”

More comedy from Coachcal.com!

"Lyles calls his dad, an R&B artist, his best friend. The elder Lyles played professionally for years, first with the Indiana Pacers, then in the CBA and eventually overseas."

Now I give you the "reality counterargument"...

We would have loved to have Trey's talent on the floor but sometimes things happen for a reason.  When you look at the BIG PICTURE---Kentucky Basketball and their fanbase is certainly a better fit for that family. Just can't see them hanging out with the Zellers, Gordons, Hulls, etc.
