As you spend more time here, you'll find that I'm in the "sunshine pumper" group. I choose to look at the positive side of things, because it's a game that has 0 direct effect on my life. Some people take a more pessimistic view of things, and I totally understand their view on things, I just choose to take a different one. I love IU basketball and will live and breathe it forever, as will most, if not all people on this site. All of the negatives on this site are because "we" only want positives for IU basketball. And those negatives are criticisms, not insults. When things get insulting, the people that run this site take care of the problem. We want success for Indiana University, along with your son and his teammates. Troy and the rest of the players, and even the rest of the athletes at the school are pretty lucky to have such a rabid, informed fanbase. A majority of the schools in the country can't fill an arena a quarter of the size of ours, while people pack the 17,000+ seats of the Hall every night. That's why it's "WE". A couple different "we"'s here.  I love your passion hothooseirsmom5.  You bring what nobody else can.  You're right, nobody on here is a "we" in the sense that Troy is.

 

There's also a fanbase "we" that has been in the Hoosier family since birth.  We aren't blessed with the talent or size to compete for "our" team, but we have the passion.

 

Obviously the fanbase "we" will never be able to be the team "we".  But we're both "we".  

 

Does that make any sense?

       Troy is fortunate to have such a great mom in his corner. As bad as I feel after a loss, I know it must be ten times as painful for the team and families. But, we shouldn't paint the entire IU fanbase by a few negative posters after a loss. Please keep in mind most of us are not saying negative things and putting our players down. Apparently negativity is a small part of the beast known as internet message boards; which is exactly why I don't read them after a loss. Keep supporting that youngun of yours ,and we'll keep supporting the team as a fanbase.

I wore both #13 and #31 during my brief stint of intramural basketball at IU.  Sadly, they did not retire either number.  I think my epic 2ppg average deserved more but I digress.  :cheese:

Not putting any players down but I was told that DD let the same person shoot 3 3-pointers in a row on him.
