The best part about this original post is that out of ANY program in country that are examples of winning consistently the OP chose MSU, Wisconsin and OSU. 3 programs that have won a total of 1 national title in past 30 years and that national title team was full of guys recruited by Crean.

OSU...zero championships since 1960 or 61...I forget...

MSU...2 total championships...1979 and 2000 (last B1G Champion)

Wisconsin...1 Championship...1939...

I didnt say win national championships. Good grief, one step at a time. I said be a consistent winner. And there is nothing wrong with this thread. It is an honest question. We know that Crean can have a good season here and there but the question is can he turn Indiana into a consistent winner. Some of you guys are so defensive when it comes to questions about our coach and program.

I can not believe that this question was even asked on here. They didn't like him at Marquett [or how ever you spell that school], in fact i have read where there was some of their fans who couldn't even believe he was hired at Indiana. It will be a bad season every year CTC is at Indiana so just get use to it.

An how many sweet sixteens has michigan state been to 17 straight I think. An how many elite 8 an final fours in the past under izzo yah I think they qualify as an elite program as Ohio state. They compete at the top year in an year out.

Good catch, but he was permanently banned before that and only has a viewing option now. Trust me, the other mods were notified of this awhile back.

An no iu can't be a elite program under crean. Yah he might be able to recruit see talent but u have to be able to coach tht talent to be at the top crean will never win a national title cause he doesn't have the coaching ability. Now if crean were able to surround himself with great coaches an take a back seat an let them coach. An let crean be the face an enforcer an motivator of the program he could build something really good at IU. But I don't see tht happening. Crean does a lot of things great but the thing we need him to do really well at he doesn't have it an tht is x an o's

So much negativity lets take a second to look back and see what crean has inheritted came in with no talent ( a walkon point guard starting) in his first year to making great players like zeller believe that we could be winners and having 15 game turn around in 11-12 year beating both #1 and #2 seeds picking him up coach of year award then making it to sweet sixteen that year and next Crean brought indiana back up and gave us all something to be proud of again
