Favorite "Wow" Moment In IU Basketball History and Recently

Recommended Posts

No, the wow moments can't be game winning shots. They can be major upsets, dumb comments made by IU players or non-IU players about IU, hilarious moments, OMG moments, etc.

This is for something fun to reflect back on and remember some great stuff. Keep it to a maximum of 3!

- Comeback against Duke in the 2002 NCAA Tournament. I couldn't believe that game.

- If Cody Zeller or Derrick Nix hit Cody in the ........ groin area.

- Eric Gordon committing to Indiana :)

I'm sure I may have some other favorites, but this is all I got for right now. Have some fun everyone!

Man, Jaybob is on fire with topics today. My favorite was Chester Frazier (I think was his name) with the extra hard dap at halfcourt with Eric Gordon before the game at Illinois. Then the subsequent drink throwing and everything else directed toward Gordon's family. Class acts, those Illini fans.

Wasn't it Dee Brown? I can't remember. What was funny is how all the Illinois posters tried to blame the Gordon's on the whole throwing and taunting crap. Terrible fans.

Brown had already graduated. He was a part of that 05 team that made a run. And yeah Illinois fans are still salty about the Gordon thing. I love it.

- Oladipo's Missed Dunk Heard Round the World - The Wat Shot and subsequent rushing of the floor. The atmosphere around campus that day and the following week was incredible. AH felt like it was shaking. - This one made me queasy watching it again the next day, but Crean confronting Meyer after beating Michigan. In the moment, it was exciting and felt sort of good haha Sent from my place of advanced, analytical thinking: the toilet.

Recently?  Cody committing.  My whole office shut down to watch the announcement.  No bs.  They were huddled around my computer.  Something about him that made you just know he would be special.  IU HAD to have him.

History?  I know it is not a moment, but watching RMK navigate a game and a sideline.  That dude played the refs like an instrument.  Everything he did had purpose.  I grew up spoiled thinking that was just the norm.  Little did I know the greatness that man held on the sideline.  I have been a fan of all sports all my life and I have never seen a man outside of Coach K have a presence on the sideline that RMK had.

Lol, Cody was a no brainer for the recent history.  Prior to Knight leaving he would have been commonplace every year.  We just were spoiled on getting that type of player and him being a 4 year player.

Here's the thing he wasn't a four year player I wasted a birthday wish 2 years ago.

True, that is why I am saying we were spoiled.  When Knight was here until about the mid-90s or so he would have been here 4 years.  Not just IU, but all of college basketball.  We were just fortunate enough to root for that type of player for 4 years.  Sometimes you take that situation for granted.  I don't blame Cody for going pro.  That is just the modern landscape.  He had to go.

True why turn down the money but you leave a very disappointed fan.
