NBA Draft: Noah Vonleh

Recommended Posts
So... Noah is going to be in the NBA. WONDER WHERE HE'll BE DRAFTED? Should I ask in this thread? Or should I start a different one that is more specific what it's about.

Get back on topic gentlemen.
Probably late 2nd round because Crean. Sorry...

Seriously though I doubt he makes it past 8. People are going to fall in love with that youth and potential. Would like to see him on a Celtics/Lakers type of team.

Oh so you were in it and the entire FO wanted Zeller for sure? Double edged sword there big guy. It's not absurd at all. You must not have been following the draft or Cody very closely for that matter because wide and large everyone was shocked that he went 4th. The "we have another insider" comment towards me was pretty ignorant too because If I'm trying to an insider it seems like you're trying to be the biggest insider I've ever seen. Thanks for the big waste of time replying.

It actually was not a total shock that he went 4th because Chad Ford tweeted days before the draft that Bobcats were looking hard at Zeller at 4 AND NBADraft.net had him at 4th in their final mock draft. I wasn't in the front office and neither were you which makes your comment about MJ make no sense.

I agree exactly. Youth and potential are large. If you are drafting on college impact, he doesn't go to late to mid 2nd round. Guys like TJ Warren are always undervalued. What more can that kid do. Deshaun Thomas was similar too. Dominant offensive player in college but not much of a look in NBA.

This post shows you know absolutely nothing about me.  I've given him credit for some things on this very board, like the Wisconsin game this year.  I don't believe in double standards though, so if I give him credit I will for damn sure give him blame.

You are right that I don't know anything about you. You posted that Crean doesn't get credit for Zeller's draft position.  I guess I would appreciate an explanation of what we can and cannot give him credit for.  I give blame to him for this year but unlike others I am not now looking back at the years the team did well and dissecting what can and cannot be attributed to Crean.

To bring this back on topic as 41 requested.  Vonleh remains right below that top tier of prospects and I agree with Hov that he won't drop past 8.

My guarantee for draft night: if Vonleh goes higher than expected Crean doesn't get credit, if he goes lower than expected it is Crean's fault.

Thomas didn't rate out as a good athlete at either small forward or power forward in the NBA. That coupled with being a tweener  is what killed him.

Last year: "We had 2 of the top four picks and didn't make it past the Sweet 16. That's on Crean. Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail!!!!"

This year: "Zeller may have gone #4, but that was too high. That's on Crean. Fail fail fail fail fail fail fail!!!!"

I'm as fed up with Crean as anyone, but this counter-intuititve argument really jumped out at me.

Lmao just stop. It was a shock. The bobcats being the team looking at him furthers my point. MJ doesn't know what he's doing and everyone already knows that. Like I already said it's a double edged sword so your comments make no sense either.

Also why reply to me then in your next post say "to get back on topic like 41 requested"? You essentially got back off topic then turned around and acted like you were trying to get back on topic. That's like wiping your butt before you poop. It makes no sense.

That's my last post on this MJ/Zeller discussion in this thread so I honestly wouldn't waste your time even replying. If you want to continue we can beat this dead horse where neither of our opinions change and we both act 12 through a pm.

I think L.A. would be the worst spot for him. Their fan base and front office are getting restless, Kobe will retire soon, and their coaching situation has been sketchy in the post Phil Jackson era. I think going to L.A. would ruin him if he didn't produce right away.

I think he could flourish in time with the Kings. They have some pieces in place, and he would presumably play power forward which is their weakest position, I'd argue by far. And he wouldn't be asked to do much for at least a little while in his career, plus Mike Malone is thought of as one of the better young coaches out there.

MJ may not know what he's doing...

but if the 2013 NBA rookie class was redrafted today, the draft order would likely be:

1) Oladipo, IU; 2) Carter-Williams, Syr; 3) Burke, UM; 4) Zeller, IU.

Just sayin'.

Most buzz recently is with Pistons and that could also be a good spot in that he could play behind Monroe, a prototypical PF who Vonleh could learn from.  Then again they have a huge logjam at the position and it's not the greatest place off the court right now.

I doubt Monroe will be around next year. Too much of a logjam there with Drummond, Singler and Villanueva already. I agree that Detroit isn't a great place for Noah to grow.
