You're right, we should ease our expectations on the freshmen. But JBJ should be an impact player from day 1. People fell in love with Hanner's pure athleticism in his vids, then realized he couldn't actually play the game. When you see Rojo's highlights, it is usually of skill play. Guys who arrive on campus with actual bball skills instead of raw athleticism will probably make an impact their first year.

Except the game is a different beast at this level.  The players are bigger and faster and stronger, it won't be as easy for him to use his skills as it was.  He will have to adjust, as most freshman do, and summer workouts aren't enough for them to adjust to the college game.

Blackmon we have actually seen play, with Johnson we have highlights.  Not film, highlights.  Johnson is a solid get, I think he'll be a good player for us down the road, but I think people are getting their expectations too high for his freshman year.

Stan was our "sniper" coming into last season too. That didn't last long lol.

There may not be a 2nd year for JB2. Other than that, I could see both happening.

These are just my opinions. I think JB is slightly overrated, but obviously I don't know for sure.

Either way we win. If he's one and done, that means he was probably extremely good and helped us out a lot. If not, like you said, we get another year of him.

Blackmon is good, very good.  5*, top 25, McDonald's AA.  I've seen him play, not just highlights (and the USA game was a joke), he's legit.

The guys in the NBA love guys who can shoot, which JBJ can do. He also has great length for a guy who is only 6'2/6'3". I'm expecting him to be a 2 year guy, but wouldn't be shocked to see  him impress enough to be a one and done guy.

Guy is also going to have lots of opportunities to show off his shooting ability here with our general lack of shooters outside of him, and technically Rojo

JB has lots of room for improvement, no doubt. Especially defensively. But he is a GREAT shooter. If he has a Gary Harris like 2 years at IU, consider me thrilled. I don't think he will be one and done either TBH, because he lacks elite athleticism. I absolutely love JB2 for IU. Heck if we can get an AJ Guyton type career out of JB, that would be awesome too. I am looking forward to him more than any IU recruit in a long time, probably since Zeller.

Rojo, has me excited too. Love his attitude.

If JB2 has a Gary Harris career, we would be looking at one of the more ridiculous backcourts in recent memory. In the nation, let alone here.

I hate it when people compare the game styles of players who will come into college bball with plenty of their own individual attributes, but after watching RobJ at the Derby and seeing his style, pullback jumper, and leadership qualities I'm gonna take a stab at it:

Rob Johnson's game seems like it could be very "Trey Burke-ish".
In 2015-16
Yogi as a Senior
Blackmon/johnson as a soph. WIth Stan being a Junior.
Williams as a junior.
If all improve, we can be a scary team with a decent big man and power forward.
I think Devin could be the guy at the 4 that year. And-one machine!

I'm crossing my fingers that one of these things happens:

A) HMP's basketball IQ becomes half as good as his athleticism

B) We sign a 4 or 5 star center for 2015

C) We get a grad transfer center in 2015

Interview coming soon... I have no idea what I'm going to ask him (any ideas are welcomed!) We've heard almost everything from him, but I'm gonna give it a shot.
