Kenny Johnson to Louisville

Crean leaving now would be devastating to the program IMO. I don't know much of anything about coach Johnson but obviously losing ground in the DMV area would be a big blowEDIT: I highly doubt Crean leaves Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Yes because coaching changes only happen at Indiana. I think it would be a good thing if Crean took the UT job. For all parties.

Would Crean leaving put IU in a worse state of funk than we already are?  We're barely clinging to recruits as it is.  If this does become a possibility, I would be worried about whatever talent we have left leaving for other programs.  Would have to hire a heck of a coach to keep kids from leaving right away, and we could face a number of years with losing seasons.

We'd get to begin the rebuild a year sooner than expected.

I don't want to derail the thread, but yes I think losing Crean now would hurt quite a bit. I doubt we could find a suitable fit, it's late enough that if any transfers arose the new coach would have difficulty having a suitable roster. Shoot, Crean doesn't even have enough players to have a 5 on 5 scrimmage.

As to coach Johnson leaving, I wonder how real of a possibility it is. I love having a pipeline to DMV, but honestly getting someone who can hold down Indiana/the Midwest would be pretty sweet. It doesn't sound like hed be much of a loss other than on the recruiting the mid Atlantic front

I wouldn't take anything you see from them as credible unless they have a source credited.  They take Twitter conversation and turn into posts to push out their heavily advertised website.

They see Maryland has a position, KJ is from/went to Maryland, and boom: blog post.

Meanwhile, I think Glass might be forced to pay KJ more money regardless of the validity in these rumors/KJ's actual interest in Maryland. If I were him I would let it sneak out that I was interested and see how badly IU wants me to stay. If they don't offer a raise, then maybe heading back home to Maryland isn't such a bad idea.

We have already faced a number of years with losing records. No buyout = big win then pay Hoibergs measily 2 mil and get him to Bloomington.

Kenny Johnson is far from the only sensible candidate for Maryland. Here's an article from the Testudo Times with a few more.

Most logical names:

* Tom Herrion - Marshall head coach 2010-2014, Charleston 2002-2006, former assistant at Pitt, Virginia, Providence, others.

* Pat Flannery - Bucknell head coach 1994-2008, former assistant Bucknell, Drexel, William & Mary

* David Cox - former assistant at Rutgers, Georgetown, Pitt

Remember that KJ has 3 years experience as a college coach TOTAL. If Turgeon is looking to make a recruiting hire, than KJ is obviously one of (if not the) top candidate. But if he's looking for someone with coaching experience, yeah right.

BS, everything on the internet is true. Jaybob is, in fact, a mullet-sporting cross-dresser. The secret shelters underneath the Denver airport are where Natty keeps his Zima stash. And if you google "NSFW pics", you will  be directed to HoosierReb's home page. ( Come to think of it, that might actually be true)

Wait we missed something.
