Been hearing this has been going on with Vonleh

Recommended Posts

Hope this isn't true but everyone needs to realize that every program has some bad years. We just gotta stay positive! Even if vonleh didn't have a good time that doesn't mean that's the same for everyone else

Evidently, others are too. I believe it.
@HoosierSully16: Hearing through grape vine that NV is doing some negative recruiting -- specifically with Thompson. Just a rumor, hope it isn't true #iubb

Yeah, I'm going to chalk this up as pure hearsay. I can understand being unhappy with the results of last season, but your post seem to be beyond that. It's quite unhealthy.

Been hearing AE has been doing some negative talking at Taco Bells at 2 in the morning..

you know what's sad?  watching that video you can't help but think "wow, he carried himself about as calmly, gentlemanly, and mature as possible"....and he's the one leaving the program.

Wonder what he said or did or why he was involved in the first place. Lots of people act like angels, after the fact. Didn't see a lot of people backing him up.  Makes one wonder.

Let's say that in some parallel universe that this were true. I wouldn't give a chit. Why? Because it would mean one guy who was here one year didn't like it. What means more to me are the guys that stayed. Will Sheehey: "I have the best coach in the world." Vic Oladipo: "I started crying because me and coach had been through so much and we finally got there together". Christian Watford "I wouldn't be here today if coach Crean didn't believe in me. I owe that guy for real". Troy and his Instagram post. Dwayne Wade calling him a father. So if it were true, which it isn't, it would be one guy who really didn't mean that much to IU basketball saying some garbage.

If I could "like" this post many, many times over I would.

Jeremy is leaving the program as well along with few others.

I seriously doubt Noah would negatively recruit, but you have to look at his public comments about how he was used. He's not happy but would he go as far as to try to sway others? I would say no, but we actually had an assistant coach that did the very same thing. So anything's possible. With Noah being Creans only one and done at IU, if this turns out to be true I believe it hurts the program moving forward more than offering project bigs or mass defections. To compete and win in todays climate, you have to have some of these 1 year players coming to your program. All you have to do is look at the top programs and what they're doing.
If this is indeed happening (which I would hope not), do you think any of Knight's former players didn't negatively recruit?

Yet they still came to IU.
I don't think you can compare crean and knight. Knight had established himself as a proven winner with titles.

For what it's worth, I've heard the same from multiple sources. Recruits aren't dumb. They check referrals from other players. Let's just say CTC isn't getting the best reviews this year.

Are you chronic from ITH? Looking forward to your insights and comments.

All disrespect intended, but everything I've seen Hoosier Hoopster post has been negative and somewhat extreme. I just can't imagine what Vonleh stands to gain by telling people not to go here. And what could he really tell them? Crean made me play at the 5 because we didn't have a true center? If these recruits watched any games they could see that for themselves. The only negative recruiting I'm worried about is not playing in March. And Crean's hair.

Honestly it is one of those I don't care if it is true or not.  Anymore all that is focused on the negative.  I am not saying whether or not I like Crean, because that is not the issue here.  This is like anything in life that everyone here deals with.  You will have some people like you and some that don't.  If Noah does really do this, Crean can point to what people said about Noah coming in and then point to his potential top 5 status in a loaded draft.  Of all of the high end recruits this year Noah was voted #1 by ESPN before the year to be a potential bust.  He was too raw and too small.  He is still raw but showed enough to up his status.  Also, he put on 20 lbs last summer.  On top of that if he blasts Crean, he could also point to every player singing his praises playing professional basketball somewhere.  I mean look at the supposed greatest recruiting class of all time to the south.  Do you think every prior burger boy is singing the praises of Calipari?  You had 3 to 4 kids who were thought of as locks to be top 10 picks in this draft before this year.  Now you have 1.  Do you think the Harrison twins are going to sing the praises of Calipari in private?  Probably not.
