Benintendi reminds me of Fred Lynn so its no surprise he was untouchable in this deal.  Moncada looked grossly over-matched in his brief appearances in Sept, but one would hope all the scouts that love the guy and hoopla that made him the #1 prospect aren't a charade.  But my gosh, he's whiffed an awful lot in his career so far.  I would guess the Red Sox are glad to be rid of Kopech and his "idiosyncrasies".

Wade Davis for Soler straight up. I'll take it. We needed to dump an OF at some point.

If I was the Royals, I'd have told them its Schwarber or go find another closer ... which shows you how much smarter Theo is than I am.

I honestly think Chicago would riot if they traded Schwarber at this point. The guy has played less than 75 games in his career and is a legend already.

I like the return on the trade the White Sox just made for Eaton more than Sale. Impressive talent going their way. 2 22 year old top pitching prospects that will start this year at the MLB level.

Real nice return for the Sox. This trade gives me hope the Sox are all in on a total rebuild. Already deep in talks with Nats again for Quintana and Colorado for Abreu. Maybe the Yanks will take Robertson back.

It would probably depend what the Sox want for DRob, the Yankees are more focused on keeping prospects than they used to be.  Frankly, I didn't want them to let him walk in the first place.

lol, just poking ya to see if you were paying attention. I remember you not being too happy when we signed him. Quintana should interest you guys tho, gotta keep up with Red Sox ;)

Gotta keep our good pieces for the Trout trade (I wish) ;)

Mantle reincarnate may as well play for the same team, even if the Angels have no one else that people would pay to see.

You're right.  But I wouldn't have taken only Soler for an elite closer even if he has only one year left on his contract.

Soler does have 4 years left, is 24, and power. There is a reason Theo wanted Davis +1. Ultimately, with Davis arm injuries last year I am concerned we gave up too much. Could have gotten a closer elsewhere. But, time will tell.

They can have him.

I don't want him for that.  17 per for a closer?  That would be a lot for Mariano Rivera, and too much for anyone not named Rivera.  Relievers tend to have a short shelf life too.

I get he's the market for reliever has exploded and he's one of the top closers in the game but still.  I would've preferred swinging a trade to bring DRob back over that contract.

Jeff Bagwell, Tim Raines, and by a scant couple votes Pudge Rodriguez makes it in the Baseball Hall of Fame on his 1st year of eligibility.

Hoffman missed by 5 votes and Vlad Guerrero missed by 15 in his 1st year.
