Fil_Dunfie Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Benintendi reminds me of Fred Lynn so its no surprise he was untouchable in this deal. Moncada looked grossly over-matched in his brief appearances in Sept, but one would hope all the scouts that love the guy and hoopla that made him the #1 prospect aren't a charade. But my gosh, he's whiffed an awful lot in his career so far. I would guess the Red Sox are glad to be rid of Kopech and his "idiosyncrasies". mdn82 1 Quote
Hovadipo Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Wade Davis for Soler straight up. I'll take it. We needed to dump an OF at some point. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mdn82 1 Quote

I honestly think Chicago would riot if they traded Schwarber at this point. The guy has played less than 75 games in his career and is a legend already. mdn82 Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I like the return on the trade the White Sox just made for Eaton more than Sale. Impressive talent going their way. 2 22 year old top pitching prospects that will start this year at the MLB level. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app indy317219 and johnsoniu 2 Quote

This trade gives me hope the Sox are all in on a total rebuild. Already deep in talks with Nats again for Quintana and Colorado for Abreu. Maybe the Yanks will take Robertson back. mdn82 1 Quote

It would probably depend what the Sox want for DRob, the Yankees are more focused on keeping prospects than they used to be. Frankly, I didn't want them to let him walk in the first place. johnsoniu 1 Quote

Quintana should interest you guys tho, gotta keep up with Red Sox ;) Quote

But I wouldn't have taken only Soler for an elite closer even if he has only one year left on his contract. Quote

Ultimately, with Davis arm injuries last year I am concerned we gave up too much. Could have gotten a closer elsewhere. But, time will tell.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

That would be a lot for Mariano Rivera, and too much for anyone not named Rivera. Relievers tend to have a short shelf life too. I get he's the market for reliever has exploded and he's one of the top closers in the game but still. I would've preferred swinging a trade to bring DRob back over that contract. Quote
