Lol, I am guessing this one will get more views than anything for a few days.  Just curious of the crazy bunch we have here.

I put 2-4 only because of the massive buyout his absurd contract has.

My goodness that contract was mind numbingly stupid for a coach that has only established consistent mediocrity.

That is fair.  I was curious to see if anyone truly thought this year or next.  So far, no.

I think a change could be made in the spring of 2016 if we still haven't gone past the Sweet 16. That team will feature a senior Yogi (he isn't leaving early for the NBA, don't believe the hype our own fans have created), a senior Perea and juniors Troy and Stan. If Troy and Stan are anywhere close to VO on the development curve, that could be a pretty awesome team if we have a competent post player. Another early exit that season on top of what we've just gone through and I think the alumni will force Glass's hand.

Gotta have to agree with this. If we can't advance past a Sweet 16 with a senior Yogi and others, we probably need to make a change.

No wrong answer here ladies and gentleman.  This is purely a prediction for the future.  No sunshine.  No doom and gloom.  This is when/do you see the program making a change.  The more votes, the better.  Gives us a better idea of where people truly stand with numbers to back it up.  If you guys want me to add anything else to the poll, let me know.

Jahii Carson is considered the first round pick this year in a loaded draft. Dude is of basically the same exact build as Yogi. He averages only .6 more assists per game, and he shoots the ball a bit better, plus more per game than Yogi. They also shoot the ball the same percentage from three. Watching a little bit of Carson he isn't really significantly better than Yogi defensively. It isn't nearly as inconceivable as some make it out that he could leave after next season, if he takes another step in his development.

Edit: Carson averages .8 more turnovers per game. So even though he averages more assists his turnover numbers are even worse

Neither nbadraft.net nor Draft Express have Carson going in the first or second round this year or next.

Jahii Carson is right now going 35th in the Draft Express mock draft:

http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-mock-draft/2014/

BasketballInsiders.com has him going in the first round of their mock draft (They use DraftExpress's top 100 prospects for their rankings as well):

http://www.basketballinsiders.com/full-2014-nba-mock-draft-3214/

NBADraft.net has him going in the second round as well:

http://nbadraft.net/2014mock_draft

CBS's website has him going 24th:

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/mock-draft

So not getting drafted in the first round in all of them, but first in two, and always getting picked
my opinion is as follows...
Tom Crean needs more time...
Is he a good coach? maybe
Is he a great coach? maybe
Is he a National championship coach? maybe...

we don't effing know...It took Jimmy Boheim 20 some-odd years to win it all...

yes, yes, yes...this year is shitty...we all know it's shitty...

have we learned nothing from the football program that begs for a new coach every 4 years...
it takes time people...

it isn't 1985 anymore...Bob Knight learned that the 90s aren't like the 80's...hell...it's 2014...
This guy knows what is going on,in a lot of posts. Great minds...

Boeheim still had more success than Crean at the same point in their careers.  Tom Crean has been a head coach for 15 years and the only thing he has done with any consistency is wallow in mediocrity.  In Boeheim's first 15 years he appeared in the Sweet 16 7 times, the Elite 8 twice, the Final Four once and the NC game once; he also won at least a share of the Big East 5 times, had only 1 season with less than 20 wins and missed the tournament a total of twice (one of which was an NIT runner up).

He didn't have a championship, but that is far more success in his first 15 years than Tom Crean has seen.
