How does IU need to finish down the stretch to make the NCAA Tournament and what is your predictions of the final 9 games?

Lunardi sent out an update saying we are in his "first 4 out".  I think we need to get to 9-9 in the B1G, and if we play like we did today I like our chances.

How does IU need to finish down the stretch to make the NCAA Tournament and what is your predictions of the final 9 games?

I see us finishing 5-4 during the rest of the regular season, and then one win and loss each in the BIG10 Tourney. In the regular season, that gets us to 50% in BIG10 play with an overall record of 19-12, and then 20-13 after BIG10 tourney. I don't know if we will get in the NCAA Tournament because of how bad our non-BIG10 schedule was. IU has beat two Top10 teams, but that was at home, where IU also lost to N'Western.

 

If IU can pull out another victory somewhere, either at Minnesota or OSU, I think IU barely squeaks in. Unfortunately, I don't think it happens!

I think with the 2 big home wins, if we get to 19 we are in.  IF we beat either OSU or Iowa, we are for sure in with 19.  It would take us beating both Iowa and OSU (possibly on the road) to get in with 18.  Teams do get in every year with 18, but 19 with another quality win would almost ensure it I would think.  Doable.  Really wish we would have beat Northwestern and Nebraska.  I would say we would be a lock to getting in.

10-8 gets us in for sure.  I'm not as sold on 9-9 with our non-con schedule.  It could though based on who we would have beaten to get to 9-9 and what we don in the B1G tournament.

We lost to NW at home. I don't think that there is a game on our schedule for the rest of the season that we should win. There isn't 1 game right now that I'm 100% confident that we're gonna win before the game gets here.

I'm not completely confident either, but I think it's pretty clear who we "should" beat. NW and Nebraska are both in that boat, but we know what happened. We still technically "should have" won those.

Considering that we cannot expect Yogi to play like that every game...I think that we win maybe 3 or 4 more, tops.  Just don't see us as an NCAA team.  Just being realistic.
