I'd consider every option too.  I usually do.

I still hope he chooses IU

Bruce Brown? That's a new name to me. Don't know anything about him. Is he a Chuck Martin prospect from the Northeast?

Watch his highlight video. He is an explosive 2 sport athlete. 6'3" ultra athletic guard. Feisty as all get out. From East, Massachusetts I believe. Nasty. Top 50 2016.

IU has seen him at least once, maybe twice before this. CCG has him in the grid, I believe, just no thread yet. I can get one after work if CCG doesn't have time or anyone else, he'll appreciate the help

Zagoria posted article today. Maker still considered a potential 15 reclass and 16 draft. Said people got ahead of themselves with the straight to Pros rumors.

Smith said Kansas, Kentucky, Duke and Indiana were still working the hardest for Maker, who has drawn comparisons to Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett.

I love seeing our name next to those programs. It's just feels right.

Loved it when Maker's guardian said: " I have spoken to Crean but Chuck Martin has been all over us"!

And how he complimented Chuck's personable recruiting style and NBA scouting connections.

At least--- we are still in the conversation and we can continue to dream!

Yep--Hovadipo---his talent is only scary when you are playing against it!

I remember when we were recruiting Hoetzel and I was looking for every prep school tidbit I could find about him----I kept running across article after article about how truly dominating Maker was on the prep school scene!

He would sure look good in Candy Stripes!

This guardian doesn't scare me.  He seems to be doing his due diligence with Thon's options.  I know there were people upset when he mentioned that they'd look at the overseas route, but I'd expect that the person in charge of a young me would help me look at every option available to me.  I think he's a dream get, and unless you guys know something I don't, I think his guardian is just looking out for Thon's best interests, much like a parent does.

Article is a year old, but it shows both sides of the Ed Smith debate. One side, he's saving Sudanese kids from their awful conditions. The other, he's doing this to profit off of the kids and their ignorant (for lack of a better word) parents. Pretty good read actually.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing.  I didn't know the story.  He still doesn't scare me though.

The thing I am honestly curious of at this (cause I haven't kept up as much as I normally do) is how different is his situation from AHOPE. I mean to me it seems kids are singled out based on potential ability and brought over to make someone money and give someone a chance to better themselves. That's no different than Hanner or Peter. Can anyone give me a difference?

Smith is Thon and Matur's legal guardian, which happened after their parents signed them over on a contract that (from what I have gathered) the parents couldn't even understand, except that it meant their boys could get out of Sudan and go to school (which didn't even happen for a couple years). I really don't know Hanner and Peter's situation, so it could be the same, but yeah.
