Man, Acuff is such a closer. Whoever takes out Arkansas is going to have them at arm’s length down the stretch because in a 1 possession game no one has an answer for that kid.

NIL…hard to compete when you don’t have it.

Hard to lose when you do. Unless you’re IU

Yeah, Zags’ entire NIL budget is like $2M. Their window has probably closed.

They will still be a power in their conference but the days of final four threats are done if that’s the case.

Meh disagree. If that was their NIL budget this year, they can still be a final four threat as long as Few is their coach. They're definitely more of a final four threat than Indiana, even in this era with our financial advantages, as long as Few is there IMO.

Tomorrow’s line up seems pretty awesome. I look for the St John’s/Kansas game to be a banger

We'll see if Peterson is a killer when he needs to be or not.

Keep in mind Gonzaga gets to direct more or less all the rev share they have into bball.  I'd guess that gets their total roster budget into the $7-8M+ range, but I'm just guessing.

They're still at a financial disadvantage, just not something crazy.

I don't have anything against Mark, except that he has seemingly flirted with every big job opening for like 10 years and it's gotten a little old.  He probably could have had the IU job last year and got an upgrade in resources.

But, he's too big of a wuss to leave the Spokane area.  Coward!  Come to IU and miss the tournament like a man!

What revenue share would they even have. Hard to believe that conference has a tv deal unless it’s local.

Yea their TV deal isn't big -- like $3-4M though that's going up quite a bit (maybe double?) with the new Pac-12.  Their athletic dept still brings in ~$40M in revenue apparently.  Not a lot of details since they're private, but ya know ticket sales, sponsors, maybe some university subsidies given how surprisingly big that number is... not sure.  They can probably find a way to funnel $5-6M rev share to hoops to add to the $2M of NIL.  But nowadays that's putting them on the edge of the top-25 on roster spend I'd guess.

Should have come to IU, Mark!  Though if he did we would have had to make sure he didn't get access to Woody's Fellas Lounge.

What is it with Nebraska I just can't figure it out did they just get better as the season went on.

They were good all year.  Won at Illinois in December and was one of the last teams that hadn’t lost.   They did get better as the season went along but they were a top 12 team all year

Imagine that. They're acting like an actual basketball team - improving as the season progresses and peaking as the tournament starts.

Could be. I doubt it’s that high, personally. They had to move heaven and earth, including partnering with a local casino, to get that Timme kid like 500k a few years back. That was before revenue share but I just don’t think they’re getting much from NIL at all. These schools without a big and/or wealthy alumni base seem to be fishing in the dark.

I believe that if North Carolina was to offer Few, he would accept.  I think Carolina would be his chance at an NCAA title.  Few may be happy enough at Gonzaga that he would decline all offers, but Nort Carolina would have to be one that he would give real consideration.
