LamarCheeks Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Caffey and Turner almost getting into a bit of a rumble on a held ball. Most fight we've shown in three quarters. HoosierHoopster, mamasa, NatHillIV and 1 other 4 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Well, we won't go winless in the B1G. This one was for the gory of old IU! But to be honest, that was pretty disappointing. We had a 36-point lead and were playing some great ball. But rather than keep the pedal on the gas, we let up. Still can't handle full-court pressure. Still can't control our foul trouble. Did win the rebounding battle, though. And in the end, a win is a win. Three players with 20-plus points. Shea: 33 Beau: 24 Maya: 21 Was fun chatting with myself again. LOL! Good win. T. Moren presented Northwestern coach retirement gift at beginning of game as they are coaching friends. Then, Northwestern coach returned favor/gift by spotting IU Ladies 36. Quote
TheWatShot Posted February 1 Posted February 1 36 point lead in the first half cut to 10 with 4 minutes to go. Disappointing to be up by that much and still need 4 of your starters playing 35+ minutes to come away with the win. Quote
HoosierHoopster Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Take the W, these girls needed it. Strong play from the young ones Mak and Beaumont to go with Ciezki LadyHoosiersFan and NatHillIV 2 Quote
TTT Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Watching Oklahoma vs Texas, and UCLA vs Iowa ….(maybe, not quite as much for Iowa) but these teams are athletic, big, physical and have girth….something that last year T. Moren has said she wants to be. Couple good ball games. Quote
NatHillIV Posted February 1 Posted February 1 i was at the game. I thought what helped us win was the "Hoosiers" video and a plea for the crowd to get into it. The crowd absolutely did get into it. Then instead of stalling and hoping the clock would run out, we returned to trying to score. And score we did. Our response to a full court press still flummoxes me. But, it's a win. One we certainly needed. Class of '66 Old Fart, mamasa, HoosierHoopster and 1 other 4 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted February 2 Posted February 2 This has nothing to do with the game. Nothing to do with anything, really. Guess some of the players signed autographs after the game. Apparently, Beau shoots right-handed, but writes left-handed? I just kinda find that interesting ... ronzo4IU, Class of '66 Old Fart, mamasa and 1 other 4 Quote

It is pretty unusual- I throw and shoot (basketball and guns) left, but write right. When I started playing bass, I was left handed but taught myself to be right handed (lefty basses are expensive lol). But I drink right handed. So basically, I don’t know what the hell I'm doing lol!
