Another one who used IU to get better offers. This hs recruiting landscape is tiresome at this point. Best of luck to him on his next stop. Quote
Lebowski Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Posted yesterday at 06:01 PM Folks, this isn't anything new. Especially with top tier football schools. We're just experiencing it for the "first" time. But in reality, we have experienced this in the past, often. Our starting QB this coming season was a decommit in 2022! I wish this young man the best of luck and hope he ultimately plays ball in 812. Home Jersey, skhoosier2 and Pagoda 3 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted yesterday at 06:19 PM Posted yesterday at 06:19 PM The adage it’s not who you miss it’s who you get fully fits Football recruting. Some of these may even be blessings if the mindset, priorities, and work ethic aren’t there. I feel like it applies to basketball too, but the supreme talents in basketball are usually still biggest difference makers. And the player pool is less. skhoosier2 and Stuhoo 2 Quote
go iu bb Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago With how good the talent evaluation of the coaching staff has been, I expect we'll see plenty of times in the future where IU gets in early on a recruit then he blows up as far as rankings and/or other teams jumping in to recruit him. If the IU staff is interested, he is probably good. That also means we'll likely see more decommitments. This isn't a new thing for IU, although now the reasons are different. ronzo4IU and skhoosier2 2 Quote
