Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 High school team is 6-2 but I'd only found minimal stats for a single game. Then found a Nov. 16, game recap that indicates he was out with an injury. No idea what the injury is but may explain why I've not found any game info for him. That could also explain his making a mid-week OV on Nov. 19. J34 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 More digging and I found that whatever injury he suffered occurred at the end of the 1st Q of his first game of the season. The quarter ended with players walking to the bench and the announcers started talking that he was cramping. Unfortunately, he was never in camera angle and did not play the rest of the game. The 1st Q ended with Christ School leading 25-18. In that quarter he had 5p, 2r, 4a, 1s. Many of Christ School's games will be found on Sports Engine including tomorrow (Tuesday) night's game against Parris Prep. Basic Sports Engine is free for anyone interested. https://sportsengineplay.com/Local-Live/Christ-School-321943/Christ-School-Boys-Varsity-Basketball?viewType=list Demo and HoosierHoopster 1 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Manhertz went through warm-ups but did not start. He played 6.5 min. in the 2nd Q and 4.5 min. over the 3rd and 4th Qs. Finished with 2p, 4r, 3a, 2s, 1b. Shot 1-9 FG and 0-5 on 3s. Christ School jumped out to a 1st Q 17-7 lead and was never threatened. Final score 67-47. He didn't have any leg or knee brace and it didn't appear he had any kind of heavy ankle wrap. On his first shot attempt, he missed a wide open layup and the announcers kind of chuckled and made comment about his hip but didn't elaborate. It was clear that this was his first game back after suffering an injury on Nov. 7. The next game on Sports Engine will be on Jan. 6. Stuhoo 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 29, 2025 Posted December 29, 2025 Purely a gut feeling but if he opts to re-class I think we get him but if he stays a '27 I'm far less optimistic. Quote

We’ve already lost about all our top targets already in the high school class (outside of Prince). Might be a blessing in disguise, because we need some immediate difference makers. Staffs off season response will be telling. Quote

Seems as though him and Karvala have a lot of skill set overlap though. Our staff is collecting 6’7” guys that can shoot. Uspshoosier 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Today from Dushawn London, Manhertz says he'll likely re-class to '26 and a decision will be sooner rather than later between IU, Duke and Louisville. Demo and Stuhoo 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Tonight Christ School destroyed Carolina Day 77-31 as a running clock started about 4 min. into the 3rd Q. In total Manhertz played less than 15 min. scoring 7p, 6r, 4a, 1s, 0b, 1t. Rough shooting night just 1-6 on 3s. Quote

It’s pretty wild that Duke’s in here, almost to the point that I’m not sure I fully believe it. Duke just doesn’t recruit projects and where he is physically makes Manhertz kind of a project. His skill level doesn’t overcome his physical development like it did somewhat for Evans last year. S’pose we’ll see. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Little trivia for you tonight. Christ School is nicknamed the Greenies which until I did some research thought was some kind of inside joke, but it's the school's actual nickname. Christ School teams have proudly borne the name “Greenies” since the early 1900s. Christ School was dubbed the Greenies in 1917 after the baseball team won the Western North Carolina baseball championship, earning new uniforms to replace the mismatched hand-me-down uniforms the teams had been wearing up to that point. Player and team manager J. Mitchel Taylor, Class of 1919, ordered every uniform in green, and thus began the term The Greenies, which has endured ever since. Quote
