Coach Cig (in his Monday presser) said he thought Ajani performed very well.  He said Michalski was banged up and limited so Ajani came in and did a good job.

I’m guessing that Cig was being kind to Michalski.

He came in the game when Benson got hurt so he was healthy enough to play. And against Maryland he had some really bad moments.

I thought Cig had said that Michalski had been banged up and missed reps this (last) week in practice, so he went with Ajani, who had gotten the reps all week in practice.

Wikipedia disagrees with that so who knows anymore.

Wikipedia hasn't been updated since the season began. At that time, it had IU with 715 losses and Northwestern with 712. Northwestern has 4 losses this season, which would put them at 716.

From Wikipedia:

"The following data is current through week 0 of the 2025 season, "

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_FBS_football_win–loss_records

Also, it's possible for Wikipedia to be wrong.

That’s why I said who knows anymore. Sports “journalism” isn’t what it used to be.  But wiki isn’t a reliable source either.

Glad to see they actually agree.  Way to go Cig.

Google's Gemini AI reports:

Quote

The NCAA FBS school with the most all-time losses is the Northwestern Wildcats

As of November 2025, they have surpassed the previous record held by the Indiana Hoosiers. The total number of losses for Northwestern stands at 716 (Source information from November 2025 indicates this total after a recent loss).

The schools with the most all-time losses in FBS history are generally those with long football traditions and a history of challenging records over many seasons. Most All-Time FBS Losses (Current Leaders)

The all-time loss record is a fluctuating statistic that changes with every game played. The top programs in this less-than-desirable category often include:

Northwestern Wildcats: Currently holding the record.

Indiana Hoosiers: Previously held the record and are consistently near the top.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights: Also among the schools with over 700 all-time defeats.
