"...more experienced team...."    LMFAO

I was thinking the same thing.  The only thing "experienced" about the team was maybe the age of the players which has to be what he is referring to.  I do believe the age of the team will be the one thing that will help them meld together faster.

Watching all the highlight videos. One of my negative takeaways.

We look slow and unathletic, Conerway had some burst. I know no one wants to hear it, but athleticism, and raw speed won’t be why we win games. Great shooting is normally the antidote for that. I think we will be better in that department, or I hope.

Grit, coaching, basketball IQ look like the calling cards of this team.

I’m so very curious to see this team against P5 competition. Nervous and not confident, but can’t wait to see how it looks live.

Maybe if he said "...more experienced players" it would have some credibility.

Too bad he couldn't have faced a CMW squad - he would have won and got to be on the other side of the excuses.  Both teams were playing with a roster not experiencedin playing with each other, or for their current coach.  It's an exhibition so....

I know some coaches can retool their new team quickly and compete at a high level in year 1. Dusty last year is everyone’s favorite example and that was legit.

I don’t think we will be as successful in year 1 compared to Dusty but I think DD can deliver very good teams on a consistent basis.  I liked Snow’s comment recently where he referred to IU as a beast when competing against them for a recruit. Even with Woody as coach Snow felt IU was very hard to beat for Indiana kids. I don’t think we need all Indiana kids to win but I think pairing DD with the Indiana strength will yield top 15 teams pretty consistently.

I don’t know if he can get us to a championship but I do feel he can get us to Wisconsin level success.

Maybe not this year but over the next decade. Will that be good enough Is the question.

He shouldn’t last 4 years if that is his ceiling.
