Jackson is listed as 6'7" and attends Roman Catholic HS in Philadelphia.  He plays AAU on the EYBL circuit for Team Final.  As a junior he was named second team all-state and helped his team to the PIAA 6A championship game.

Trevor Andershock this morning:  "Indiana is heavily pursuing 2026 4-star guard Sammy Jackson...."

Article behind a paywall but this stands out.  "I didn't really know much," Jackson said of Indiana. "I heard they got a new staff, but Coach Rod Clark and Coach DeVries, talking to them, they really told me a lot about the school. And I mean, I keep learning more about everything. I can't wait to get up there for a visit."

Imagine that.  Our head coach talking directly with a recruit.  Wonders will never cease.

Ok, then. Given where he’s from I assume he’s been to St Joe’s and I imagine he’s been to VCU. So I guess that’s not as crazy fast as it sounds.

I like IU's chances among those schools. I think it's realistically between IU and Texas. Miller was recruiting him while at Xavier and Texas gets the last visit so they might have an advantage.

From 247, it's apparently the plan that Jackson will be his high school team's PG next season.  At 6'7" it will be interesting to see how that works out for both the school and for Jackson's development.

He played a lot of PG this weekend. His handle is probably his best skill and he flashed some vision/facilitation.

I saw that he was a guard for a long time then had a growth spurt so he has a lot of guard skills.

One of the other guys we're recruiting had a similar development. Anthony Thompson, maybe? I don't remember.

Jackson's OV starts later today.  He finishes up at the NBPA Top 100 Camp and then heads to Bloomington.  We're the 2nd of his planned 4 OVs - St. Joseph's June 3-4, Indiana June 13-14, VCU June 17-18, and Texas June 23-24. His college decision is scheduled for June 25.

I'll post his Top 100 Camp stats later today and FWIW, Raby mentioned a camp environment isn't the best for Jackson because he doesn't hunt shots and looks to pass so unless he's hot form 3-point land, he won't necessarily stand out.

I would LOVE to have a 6'7 PG, with handle, he's shown some 3-point shooting as well. Great kid to recruit, hope we beat out UT, local schools may have an in but UT is hard competition.
