He’s had a weird career in terms of three point shooting. I’d be shocked if he made 3 a game the rest of the way out but maybe there’s a scenario where he shoots ~40% from 3 the rest of the way out. That would really pump up the effectiveness of a handful of lineups.

He's now at 965 points, so 35 away from a 1,000.  Will have at least four games to get it.

He passed A.J. Guyton last night in career assists.  He's now 8th on the all time IU career list.

VJ3 was one of the best players on some really bad IU teams and as a senior he willingly took a back seat in his role to the talent we brought in.

That may be, but he got more hate than anyone in my lifetime not name Luke Recker or Neil Reid.  Let alone forum traffic.  Do you feel others got more hate than him over the last 40 years?  That’s really as far back as I can go.

Why?

I so wish I could have the film from last night.... everything MM does on the court is selfish.

The shot selection, the timing of his cuts, the absolute disregard for EVER making an extra pass/setting up a teammate (although he actually did do this once last night, and then made a stupid/selfish cut rights afterwards).... he's never matched up defensively, and when he is he never recognizes that he might need to switch/whatever to help a teammate out, he doesn't go after loose balls.

Watch him cut the next game, or in transition... he cuts straight to the f'ing rim instead of EVER spacing out the 3pt line so a teammate can drive a gap and either get a layup or get him an open 3.

I honestly could go on and on.

Oh I agree with you 100%. He does not impact winning and it seems the staff understands that now—hence why he sat the last 9 minutes last night (we immediately went on a run).
There are some here who put all the blame for MM’s play on Woody.

He can make tough shots, but doesn’t actually even shoot it well enough from 3 (32%) to warrant being out there given his defensive liabilities. Kid thought he was gonna be a one-and-done but in two years is essentially the same player as when he came in.

Mack is the guy I’m most hopeful transfers out!!

Verdell?!?!! I liked Verdell.

  • Great guy!
  • He was always (and still is) proud to be a Hoosier.
  • Played hard.
  • Improved a ton during his four years at IU.

Love Verdell Jones Jr.

Not sure I could attach any of those positive attributes to Mgbako.

Those gallo 3’s immediately after Kern stared him down was awesome

I thought the same thing.  Almost like it lit a fire under him.

ultimately.. he is responsible for all the dysfunction and the behavior that is allowed, yes.

Trey Galloway has been playing at an All-B1G level for the past month.

PSU did a good job defending the Gallo/Ballo pick n roll last night. That PSU center is long enough that the double team off the pick was really disruptive.

Need to keep confidently taking open threes that present themselves off that action if teams keep doing it

Didn’t Jason Collier give those 2 a run for their money for awhile?

Pretty impressive that the small lineup with him and Rice sees Galloway often as the primary ballhandler. I wouldn’t have expected much of that at the start of conference play.

I don’t know if Woody sometimes just stumbles into these “adjustments” but I want to give him credit for this one anyways.

The board I posted on then (Our Hoosier Board) was a mixed bag in terms of him.  The two guys I can remember getting more heat were Devan Dumes and the point guard we got from Pitt (not X)….age is making me forget his name.
