Adam Howard No Longer On Staff

Basically Woodson asked Adam to separate Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway in the locker room by moving their lockers and he refused, he said they're sixth year seniors and he didn’t want to do that. Adam did eventually do it though. Woody and Howard didn't talk for three weeks, when Adam pressed him on it Woodson blew up and said that he talks and shares too much with recruits and they got in an argument. Woodson also never got over Adam almost leaving to coach with May before Woodson came up with an official job for him. Woodson felt he wasn’t loyal.

Real question. Beyond just being a d1ck, what would necessitate this? Two of the players that had your back. SMH

This applies to every single workplace environment in America. If the owner or head of a company tells a junior level employee to do something and that said junior level employee gets caught talking s*** behind the back of the owner to another subordinate, he/she is going to be reprimanded, if not outright terminated. Something tells me this wasn't the first time this happened either.

Adam Howard isn't Kenya or Walsh or Yasir having a disagreement with the head boss over a scouting report or something of that nature.

No, it doesn't. At some point maybe acknowledge that here @ap2345knows what he's talking about. Ap2345 just told you he's worked for multiple HCs. Howard going  to the other assistant/staffers to try and convince Woodson that they needed to change their approach is exactly what an assistant coach is supposed to do (and does) when there's disagreement -- provide a coaching group approach / opinion as to a direction to take, for further disussion. They aren't lap dogs, and that obviously isn't "talking s***"  --  All you're doing is putting blatant spin on a coaching situation of which you know nothing out of some blind sense of loyalty.

Why would Woodson think moving their lockers would have any impact on that? The locker room isn’t that big, so it’s not like moving their lockers would prevent them from hanging out with each other. Just seems like yet another example of Woodson throwing his ego around and wanting everyone to know he’s the boss.

Actual lmao that this is the **** he spends time focusing on rather than getting this team ready to win a championship. Lol.

At least football has a real coach.

I don't know. I joked that he saw Coach Knight do it once and thought it was a good idea. The whole thing seemed kind of crazy to me.

Who needs camaraderie, they should be focused on getting over the hump. The hump is a 66 year old failed NBA HC.

Reporter - Coach, how are you going to get the team over the hump this year?

Mediocre Mike - By separating my 6th year seniors in the locker room because they’re friends with each other.

AH admit he is in the wrong and doesn't know something? Him admit that someone else isn't an idiot? lol, that'll never happen.

I will say that in a couple of my workplaces bosses have made decisions that people didn't think were a good idea. Sometimes people would talk about that, form a small group and go talk to the boss about it with why they thought it wasn't a good idea and ways things could be changed for the better. Sometimes the boss was persuaded, sometimes not. No one got fired over it. This is what it sounds like Howard may have been doing. Of course, I may have just had better bosses than Woodson.

This isn't undermining your boss? What am I missing?

I only see two options, and neither seem to be of consequence. Either the "true fans" boys cannot get along these days (no proof, no hint, just a thought)... OR there are issues between some of the team and Woodson, and this is a "spread the team leaders around the locker room" thing... again, no proof, no hints and purely a guess on my part...

But could there be chemistry issues with this team? Serious question... anyone with any insight on this?

So that would have cut Woodson off at the knees when the team struggles and we hear "they're still getting to know one another"... :D

I'm sorry. By 4 on Friday, I was already in football mode. I'm sure you have heard why by now. Adam was asked to do something by Woodson, didn't think it was his job, waited a few weeks to do it. Woodson got mad didn't speak to Adam for a few weeks, then Adam confronted him and they had an argument and he let him go.

Adam was still frustrated about some recruiting things that happened awhile back with Woody. I haven't read the thread so sorry if I'm just saying what everyone else has.

Really separate them, one locker per room. That'll surely get them over the hump.

Pretty sad. I honestly don't even care about basketball right now. Thank God for what Cig has done because otherwise I'd be miserably loathing in BB right now. People that are upset with BB should be focusing their energy on a program/coach that is over delivering in every way.

Perhaps there was too much horseplay going on in the locker room and the two supposed leaders weren’t holding guys accountable, possibly even part of the problem? Or he wanted his two leaders spread out to mentor other players instead of being right next to each other? I mean jeez there’s numerous reasons why this move could have been prompted. Pretty alarming that a low level staffer would risk his job over a simple request over something so trivial.

While I'm somewhat impressed Adam stood up for his stance on the matter, I find it completely idiotic for a 23/24 year old who is fresh to the coaching side of the business to not do what he's told. When you're at that age in the business, you do what you're told, period. He just got a decent title this year and he probably made around 40-45K or so. At this point, you work your way up, not put yourself in a position to be let go at a P4 program. Getting fired during the season is not a good look. As for Woodson, we all know he's petty from an outsiders perspective, it's not too shocking.

At least this is a football school now.
