You’re probably right but Izzo doesn’t seem like the guy who wants to get into a bidding war for players. He’s still one of the few coaches not totally bought in on NIL. I’m sure he has a pitch with a price tag attached and it’s a take it or leave it deal. Just seems to be the way he operates.

Would leave $3-4mil for 3 players assuming you don’t have to pay Sherrell more. Get Reibe for $2mil, Allenspach for $1mil and $500k for Budd Clark and call it a day.

In that money you don't have a single dollar allocated to three freshman, Sisley, and Acimovic.  Anyway, I think a lot of the numbers that are being thrown about aren't real.  I would say that there is no that Budd Clark is going to only get $500,000.  He was second team All Big East and on the all defensive Big East first team.

He costs almost nothing ,and he opens doors with people in Europe if we help out with his development.

Yes I did, 2nd paragraph. $1mil-$1.5 mil allocated for Sisley, Acimovic, + 3 freshman. Can’t imagine the freshman + Acimovic are making more than a couple hundred thousand each and Sisley probably got a small bump to stay.

My bad, must have missed it.  I believe, though, that the team revenue has to be split evenly and then the NIL is separate so there is an amount of $ that each player at the minimum earns and I would have to think that's greater than 200k.

Revenue share money doesn’t have to be split evenly and each school can choose to allocate it however they wish up to the cap of $20.5 million.

Double checked it -- in the Puerto Rican exhibitions I believe he only played a few minutes in one game.  In the Marian exhibition, he played 10 minutes and was 4 of 7 from the floor and had 7 rebounds and two assists.      How is that 'really, really bad'?

Good to know.  I was operating under the assumption that it was to be split evenly.  I do know that the bulk of the revenue share is much more toward football than basketball at most schools.

Yes 75-80% to football in most cases.

Putting all your eggs in one basket will leave you holding the bag. I hope we land Sherrell but Izzo is way more proven with BIGS than our staff so if the $$ similar I can see him going there. Is Duke still in the mix for him?  

I apologize up front for this waiting on commits ramble but it is frustrating to see update after update of us linked with guards and never any contact with bigs. Even Coach Adragna's portal tracker only has 3 or 4 centers listed. Coach Devries has gone through a year of the Big Ten and knows we need size and rebounding and rim protectors. When the portal opened I tried to track all of the big guys that entered and as of today see 18-20 guys that would be work in various combinations because you really need at least 3 for rotation purposes. And you also have young athletic 6'8"/6'9" guys like Adlan Elamin, Elyjah Freeman, Mouhamed Camara , Bryson Tiller that you could add to the mix. 

The only reason I can think of for this lack of interest is maybe we have a legitimate shot at one of the international bigs.

Also does anyone think Chol Machot would be a viable option to pair with Aiden Sherrell?

7', 190 pounds.  Averaged 2.8 fouls in under 20 minutes per game.  And this was with a low major team.

At best, he's a guy you get to be your backup center as a project.

Today has been such a roller coaster and we still know nothing.  Sounds like Burton and Mustaf we are in good shape to get (or potentially already have gotten), Harris we are in good shape but as far as we know he still is going to visit Virginia (which is his home state).  Sherrell is a wild card that we are going all in for but some big sharks are circling.

I'm sure we'll know more tomorrow.  Hoping for four signees, think we have two locked up right now.

Huh? We literally have one of the top bigs in the portal on campus right now. We’re in the top 3 for Eric Reibe. We were linked to JP Estrella and Fru from Louisville.

I would also say, just because we haven't been mentioned with bigs, doesnt mean we aren't reaching out and making connections.  Nobody even knew Mustaf was going to visit until he was already on campus.  DeVries said he wants and knows we need to get bigger.  No part of me thinks he is just ignoring bigs in the portal right now.  

Commits have just started ramping up today.  So I'd just give it a little more time before the panic sets in.

2 of 4 would still be a win. I hope the staff and Carr have ins with other bigs and wings that are athletic and under the radar guys. If Sherrell doesn’t pan out we need to shift to plans B, C, D, and E which I hope we are still in contact with anyway. Can’t blame Harris if he decides to stay at home and play.

My guess is he is referring to those tweets that go something like "Guard name has been contacted by these 20 schools since entering the portal" and Indiana is listed in a lot of those for guards, but not bigs.

I’ll admit the big make me nervous. Sherrill would be an awesome addition. Really like Reibe too. If we get neither of them I’m not sure who the back up will be.
