Absent other info I would not assume Jasai Miles is a scramble to fill the Wilkerson spot, these visits don’t just get set up overnight

I hope not. I kinda like Jasai but he’s not Wilkerson. I could certainly see the staff trying to fill the same spot with this move.

Interesting stat from his profile: almost 7 boards a game as a wing. If DeVries really wants to play a perimeter oriented lineup that would be a nice little addition.

He also said IU did a lot of prep work for Wilkerson and was very prepared and thinks that will help them in the long run too

Just watched the Aaron Torres podcast about Wilkerson and he thinks he will pick UK but mainly reading tea leaves. He kept saying it was good for UK that he cancelled the other visits right after the UK visit. He also thinks he picks UK because he would be the final piece to a great roster

When looking at low/mid major guys and how well they will transfer athletically, it's always good to look at their rebounding totals.  Guys that are plus rebounders at low/mid levels will translate athletically.  In the case of Miles, 6.8 rebounds/game for a 6'6" kid is very nice.

While he shot 34% from three, he did it on a ton of attempts (7.3 per game).  While his overall shooting percentage was 42.5%, when you throw in the adjustment for threes his effective percentage was 52%.  Inside the arc he shot 55%.  Also has two years of eligibility left.

Have to keep in mind as well that there isn't much difference between college 2's and 3's today.  There is no reason that Wilkerson and Miles -- at 6'5" and 6'6" -- can't be on the floor at the same time.  Always nice to have players capable of playing more than one spot.  I mean, if you just go off of where a team lists a player's position then North Florida's rotation was 6 guards and 2 forwards.  Miles is a small forward than can be a 2 or 3.
