Creighton would make sense with being close to home, etc. Illinois less so, they would just have beaten us like Louisville did for Conwell. But not surprising. 1 yr left for Conwell and Dix, who are good, not great players. Quote

I've just always been impressed with Payne. Such a beast. Neither Flory or Payne are 30+ mpg guys so taking both would solve the 5 spot in a hurry CSP, thebigweave, IUGRAD06 and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Both closer to great than good. Depending on your measurement of those words, we likely won't get a "great" player then. We will get to see a team. Might be fun. Offense will try to look like Creighton's. We will be capped by athleticism and size. Quote

Hoosierfanyuh Posted April 2 Posted April 2 Derek Piper of our Illinois site is reporting that the Illini staff expects to hear about Josh Dix in the next 24 hours or so. I do know that Iowa has been in regular communication with Dix. One source said that Josh is getting some pretty big-time numbers thrown at him, so they'd lean him going elsewhere. Some are saying Illinois, some are saying Indiana. I'd bet it's one of those programs right now, but we'll see. I don't think Iowa has heard officially yet from iowas 247 staff member skhoosier2, go iu bb, thebigweave and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Flory isn't good enough offensively to play 30+ mpg on top of foul issues and Payne has never physically been able to play 30 mpg or really even come close to it. A 22/18 minute split with Payne + Flory at the 5 with Flory playing a 4-5 minutes at the 4 when a bigger lineup is needed would be a good sell for DeVries. With multiple years of eligibility left, a good development year would potentially allow Flory to push 30+ mpg as an upperclassmen. thebigweave 1 Quote

I mean Payne left Minnesota as a spot starter to go be a spot starter at Texas A&M. He's never averaged more than 23 mpg anywhere . I think he knows and understands his limitations at this stage. I really struggle to see Auburn guaranteeing Flory 30+ mpg next year. Would be a massive jump that ultimately leaves him disappointed. He's just not ready for those kinds of minutes yet. Quote

Why can’t Zeller just come back and play the 5 eternity? With enright and either of these centers the free throw shooting would suffer. ebridges24 1 Quote

You pick Why don't they compliment each other? You get 20 minutes of an elite shot blocker and potential high end rebounder who could be a massive threat in lob action and then you get 20 minutes of a brute who draws fouls and is very efficient around the rim. What else do you want/need from your 5? Quote
