May not be only reason.  Common sense might say she wants to go to a team where she can plug into for a higher percentage chance to go to final four or beyond.

1..Additional thought (better players) and put herself on the market and get with established team.

2.  Most of the most successful top teams have excellent players on the bench and are having much less turnover.

3.  Shay?

4.  Wonder what incoming freshman are thinking?

5.  What are the 3 active players thinking?

6.  Looking at some of the IU Ladies transfer portal players…they thanked and appreciated the fans.  No mention of coaching staff.

7.  Possibility (unlikely) of a couple players in transfer portal and IU Ladies program kiss and make up and return????

I hope some of the girls who entered the portal decide to come back.  At this point, IU needs warm bodies.
Down to 5 returning, right?

Gino Auriemma is right.  Time to rethink the whole college "student-athlete" sports situation.

I do NOT blame Garzon.  She has a twin sister fighting in the army, and her family and her country can use the money.  I would guess (bet?) it's strictly about the money.  I feel sorry for her.  She very seldom smiles, and IU is one place she seems to find some joy.  I hope she and a few others decide to stay.

5 including incoming freshman.

Money?  It will be interesting to see how the IU Ladies transfer portal players workout….downside,  lateral, upside.  Out of six players there are going to be winners and losers.

Also wondering about who was coach driven to transfer vs those who were player driven and neutral departure.

I'm so sick of putting these kids on a pedestal. "I don't blame Yardon" ...

I do.

For what? For deciding that another program might be a better fit or provide her with a better situation for her last year of college competition?

You really expect her to put "Certified Sunshine Pumper's" preference ahead of her own best interest?

What, exactly, are you blaming her for, then?

And how do you know if she's heading to a better situation or not? Has her destination been reported?

I'm really confused what you're looking for here. I apologize I feel differently than you. Have a nice day, though.

Here's what little I know.  Yardon has obviously been offered a substantial sum of money to play somewhere else.

If you're a Junior in college with a twin sister fighting against Hamas, a family living under a constant threat, and you're offered a bunch of money, what would YOU DO?
Easy for us to judge Yardon from the comfort of our easy chair, because we've never been in a situation remotely resembling hers,
I wish her well, whatever she decides.

Indiana University is one of the best situations she could have been in from many at the university.  Along with her coach and staff.

According to Rabby's story, Garzon has a Do Not Contact tag -- which I guess means she likely knows where she's going.

Since she took a few days to enter, I wonder if she was waiting for the right offer privately -- rather than enter right away and have a free-for-all for her services?

Was really hoping she'd come back. Thought she was primed for a big senior season.

If Moren can get players like Merkel and that Arkansas guard who posted yesterday about visit, says NIL is in decent spot and the turnover of best players happens everywhere and IU not unique (see Ohio State and Maryland a couple of yrs ago).

Key though is when good players enter at good programs (top players enter at every school), they are able to use NIL to replace them with just as good. If Moren brings in a bunch of solid players mean NIL is adequate. If stuck with a bunch of Mid-Major players then clearly NIL is a massive issue. This will be answered in next couple of weeks.

In Yarden's case she may just want a new situation to chase a national title but totally speculating. Who Moren gets over next few weeks will answer a lot of questions about NIL and state of program.

In the current climate of college sports if someone legitimately offered me like a 25% to 50% to even double the salary I would consider changing jobs…..if intangibles checked out (which possibly could be a deal breaker).  Is the grass always greener on the other side???
