Woodson did WRONGLY “ answer an important question:  “were just not the same team as were earlier.” (winning close games against low level teams).

They were 4-1 vs awful teams. But he thought they were playing great. Lol.

I can write his response had he given one, "I am stepping down as IU's HC effective the end of the season. My goal when I got here was to get the program back headed in the right direction , and I have accomplished that goal. We've made multiple tournament appearances and have established a top NIL program that rivals any in college basketball.  I  informed Scott Dolson earlier this week of my plans to allow him the advantage of preparing for the future. I intend on continuing on coaching  these broken hearted fellas and getting them over the hump very soon."

 

OK, maybe not the  last sentence. But all that was missed out on was canned BS.

Sure, but that is exactly why he sucks.  Extremely easy to put a simple statement together, as you have shown above.  Instead, he wants to run an hide.

I still don't think he gets just how unpopular he is He is still shielded by guys like may and ratford who tell him how great he s because he played here 198 years ago. He didn't make a final four and he didn't win a national title. Those are things you are remembered for. He was hired to win big ten titles not to live 179 years in the past and talk about the old days. He is so delusional it's beyond unreal.

Whatever happened to Carlyle? The guy Woodson paid huge money too and we were told was going to form the best backcourt in the bug ten with rice. The dude doesn't even play.

We've already seen that he has no problem saying he won't answer a question when he doesn't want to be asked about something. Except then it's him avoiding questions about his "retirement" which was supposedly his idea.

Neither did Carlyle the 2nd half and that’s not the first time that’s happened to him and yet Woodson keeps starting Carlyle and I am sure he pays both of them handsomely.  A terrible ROI

Neither did Carlyle the 2nd half and that’s not the first time that’s happened to him and yet Woodson keeps starting Carlyle and I am sure he pays both of them handsomely.  A terrible ROI

I was listening to Jeff goodman talk about rice. He said he was hyped up as this great shooter who was all pac ten. He said he is an "ok" shooter but nothing great. The hype was ridiculous on the guyd woodson bought

Some on this board talked about him and Carlyle being shooters. They are good shooters if you ignore all the ones they miss.

Yeah he is average at best. And for what they paid him another horrible return on investment. Just like tucker. Terrible return.

Some on this board who watched them play in the PAC 12 pointed out that at best they were streaky shooters but clearly people pointed out their percentages were not that good.   Carlyle was never considered a great shooter even out of high school.  Some were hoping rice stretch where he went 0-21 or something like that was a reason his percentage was low.   It’s a free message board so yes people pumped up new editions and talked them up however plenty on here told people to pump the breaks

The team has some talent, and a coach that doesn't have a clue what to do with it.

There’s been a lot of wasteful money spent on this team…Carlyle has to be tops. He gets paid close to a million dollars and is not a Big Ten caliber player. He doesn’t even have the size nor plays the game correctly. At this point, seems like Woodson is content with keeping him on the bench. I would be shocked if he is with the program next year with the new staff. Very forgettable player. Makes you wonder who scouts these guys.

No new staff will pay him close to a million. He'd probably have to take a 65% paycut to stay. Woodson just threw money at anyone ranked high.

 The performance on the floor is a direct correlation to the coaching the players got. Rice wasn’t all-PAC-10 because he sucks.
