There is a guy on HSN that could be Tyme or whatever his name is. IndianaResident16 is the username and he is over there arguing with everyone why IU is struggling. His main response is the coach loses the fan base to quickly and should be given more time. He is saying that the IU job isn't what it use to be so you won't be getting the top coaches because of the culture around the program.

How long has he been posting?

One of their worst takes (of which there are many) is that the players are feeling so much pressure from the fanbase and are being crushed by it. I’m sorry, but idk many low stress jobs that pay $500k or more. High-level D1 basketball isn’t the place you go if you want a pressure free environment.

I grew up privileged.... very. (mostly because my dad worked his balls off)

I teach in a VERY not-privileged area.... I can't imagine walking up to some of these single mom's, kids that live with grandparents, kids that have both parents in prison for drugs and Mackenzie Mgbako telling them he's got it hard lololololol

Some people just love to coach. Miss it after they haven't done it for a while. Who else could have on their resume NBA Championship and CBB Championship? Larry Brown?

Maybe. Maybe he and Dolson are good friends and have just chatted the last year because that is what good friends do. But I've never known of them having a personal relationship with each other. One thing we know is that time will tell.

Nothing Brad has done in his career has had a prior precedent. There's also a very recent even more outlandish move that happened in college sports and if you've listened there's good logic that could apply to Brad and coaching in college as well.

Maybe Brad comes back as the General Manager for the Hoosiers (similar to the role that Purdue just hired someone for in football) and then Dusty or McCollum as the head coach??

I don't think you need a big name coach anymore.  You get a system guy and then have people holding a big bag.  And the system doesn't necessarily even matter, although I think you take a look at what the SEC is doing right now and emulate that if you ask me....but get a good coach and then back him with money and you should be fine.

We have the money part down

Spot on.  Pre-NIL there was an art to recruiting, which included quite a bit of under the table compensation.  With all that above board now, many more coaches can be successful. I think 10+ coaches could do well at IU with our top 5 or 10 payroll.  Just pick any good X’s and O’s guy that plays a modern style and we are 75% of the way there.

14-30 Quad 1

31-40 Quad 1&2 Combined which gives us a winning % of .442 in games against decent competition.

Which is 2 hundredths of a point off Woody’s NBA head coaching record of .419– say what you want about Woody at least he’s consistent. You were constantly toying with us Tom. Either be consistently good or consistently bad, pick one!

Jokes aside, it’s actually pretty wild how close his coaching record in CBB matches his NBA record if you throw out the cupcakes lol

I always try to look at things objectively...and the numbers are -

14-30 vs Quad 1 teams

17-10 vs Quad 2 teams

45-4 vs Quad 3/4 teams

76-44 overall

What most fans can't shake, is of those 44 overall losses, over half (26) have been by double digits, and 10 of those are by 20+ points.

Well heck... SDB is currently telling me how well Iowa played lol

This has been said a couple of times, I was PISSED at Ant Wright for kinda playing along with that the other day from an IUBB fan that insinuated that. BS claims.

This is the entire schtick. They just run from one end to other chasing the goal posts. That one dude here jumped on me almost immediately for daring to suggest Penn State playing like dog crap had more to do with us winning than anything we did to make them uncomfortable.

If we win it’s because IU executed a masterful game plan making the opposing team play awful and their coaches unable to counter the amazing adjustments, and if we lose it’s because of injuries or the other team playing out of their minds. All of Team Shill™️ is exactly the same.

Gotta get a tough coach who demands his kids play hard but is also respected as a winner.  Then recruit the kids that can handle being coached tough that want to win more than they want their 1st class ticket to the NBA.   Selling NBA pipedreams used to be the winning strategy when Calipari flipped the one and done system.  Times have changed.  Hard to win with great freshman now.  Gotta have the talent, but more importantly you have to have the type of player that hates to lose and will do the things it takes to win.  Then hopefully you find that person with great basketball talents.

So nearly a full 25% of losses in the Woodson era are massive blowouts. That’s eye-popping. One out of every four losses we get fired into the sun by someone lol. That feels like mid-major stuff.

.260 in Q1a (thanks @Uspshoosier)is almost as bad as James Franklin against top-10 football teams.

I think it is him.  Either that or there is a network of dudes singing from his hymnal.

Anyway, please fire Woodson!

One thing I was good at was nicknames.

Jayboob, Tiny, Nips to name a few. Lol #thegoodoldays
